This magazine represents what can go wrong with a fan driven magazine, namely what starts as a labor of love and a desire to connect a community of collectors eventually evolves into a hype rag for an industry. The publishers and writers get plenty of free product to review as well as ad revenue so there is no actual critique of products or the companies that produce them, even when they make horrible products that should have been great. Gotta keep that gravy train rolling. The price guide is collated from retailer info and suprise suprise the retailers who contribute are also advertisers. No accounting for actual real world pricing is reflected, prices come out, rise for a month or two and then plateau, never to be looked at again. Even after initial hype dies down and prices in the real world market (like the auction site that begins with an E) drop considerably there is no adjustment to the price guide because they are off to the next hot new thing and nobody wants to make anyone feel bad that they paid too much. It is sad that this is all there is for non sports card collectors.
