Rdh

RdhThe RDH magazine is an extremely valuable resource for dental assistants, providing cutting-edge, up-to-date information that's targeted directly to them.

One of the most helpful features is when the RDH magazine shares communication techniques with dental hygienists so that they can effectively communicate information to patients and help them to buy into the preventive dental care steps they need to take to help ensure healthy teeth and gums.

It's also interesting to read profiles of dental hygienists throughout the country to learn more about their lives and their career goals and why they chose the dental care field and how they contribute to helping their patients live healthier lives.

Another key area of focus is pain management both for the patients as they undergo dental procedures and for the hygienists themselves. A recent issue of RDH magazine pointed out hygienists need to proactively fight against repetitive motion injuries, mostly in the neck, back and shoulders. These injuries can be caused by the repetitive use of dental tools and their repetitive placing. The article suggests regular stretching and exercise as the solution.

The magazine is jam-packed with vital information and the price is right so we highly recommend this publication for anyone in the dental assistant profession and anyone who is interested in joining that profession.

Jacksonville

JacksonvilleI found Jacksonville Magazine to be an enjoyable magazine to read. There are articles about local events, people and places that I have not seen anywhere else in the years I have lived in Jacksonville. I will renew my subscription when the time comes.

Gray's Sporting Journal (1-year auto-renewal)

Gray's Sporting JournalThis magazine is a pleasant change from "Field & Stream" and "Outdoor life" The articles are well written and harken back to a day and age when one had time to sit by the fire and read a good story. 5 stars for writing quality. It's expensive per issue but you'll get your money's worth out of the reading time. Ad's but far fewer than those other pulp journals.

This roughly bimonthly magazine contains a wide range of generally well written fishing and hunting stories, plus some photo-journals of hunting and fishing trips to exotic locales. There are occassional articles about making guns, gunsmithing, etc. I'd pretty much agree with G. Powell's short review, the quality of the writing here is better than `Field and Stream' or similar publications, definitely worth the money. Probably about the same as `Sporting Classics', but without so many ads. I got started reading this magazine after devouring Robert Ruark, Peter Capstick, and Gordon MacQuarrie. This magazine (and perhaps `Sporting Classics') is about the only thing that is comparable to that style of writing these days. One thing I really like about GSJ is that there is a wide range of hunting and fishing stories from simple tales about deer camp or bass fishing in the local lake (which virtually everyone can associate with to some degree), to exotic and dangerous safaris in Africa, waterfowl hunts in Argentina, and fly fishing in Mongolia. There are stories that I can relate to, and stories that make me dream about (probably unattainable at least by me) hunting and fishing adventures. An evening with this magazine will get me primed for the upcoming season no matter if it is turkeys, trout, or ducks.

Motorcycle Cruiser (1-year auto-renewal)

Motorcycle CruiserI've been riding for over 40 years, I've gone through the different phases.. dirt, sport and now cruisers. I don't need a babe on the cover, I want to know about bikes. This magazine gives me exactly want I want and enjoy reading.

This is one of the better bike magazines out there. Not a lot of bias on any one bike.Good reviews from more than one rider also.Rider magazine is pretty good to.

Let's face it, us middle-aged guys really only read the third of, say, MOTORCYCLIST that concerns the big bikes with the fat seats. The rest of it breeds in us a slow boil of resentment--of course we're not *aware* we're feeling this, cuz were guys--at the little, fast bikes that are ridden by little, fast people.

We need a magazine about bikes with big, wide seats. Like ours.

Enter MOTORCYCLE CRUISER.

With a name like that, there's very little left for a reviewer to say. Whether you take your cruzer in inches or metrics, this very cool magazine is chock full of great articles about'em and pages of way too cool accessories that--once you've seen'em--you wonder how you got along without knowing they made stuff like that.

There's a spunky edge to the writing, too. The August 2007 cover story is a bake-off between the mid-class Honda, Star, and Suzuki products. It's title? 'Rise of the Middle Class'. There were grins all around when they thought of that one.

Really, it's a great magazine for cruzer-heads and cruzer admirers. Buy it.
