I've been subscribing to Click, along with its sister publication, Ladybug, for about 2 years now. It's a great way to introduce the "real world" to my 5-year-old.

As an earlier review noted, each issue has a specific theme. For example, the last few issues were titled "At The Zoo", "In The Night Sky", "In The Islands", and "Busy Cities". This makes each issue like a mini-book, to be read and re-read, depending on your child's interest in the topic of the month.

Even if the current issue's topic doesn't engage your child, he/she will still want to read it, if only to see the recurring features, such as "Click & The Kids" and "Yo Wants To Know". This combination is a great way to introduce new topics in a familiar setting.

The writing is fresh and much more interesting to young minds than what you find in some other kids' magazines. Each story is well-illustrated. A given issue will have a variety of types of writing cartoons, photoessays, non-fiction articles, 4-5 page fiction stories, and ideas of things to do.

This mix is great for kids with variable attention spans if he/she can sit for 30 minutes, you can read the whole magazine. If 5 minutes, or 15 minutes, is today's limit, you can find something to fit that span.

Finally, as another reviewer noted, the magazine is written at several different comprehension levels, meaning that it spans the suggested age range quite well, with something for everyone, and that you can go back and read old issues with more mature eyes and get a new experience.

All in all, this magazine has been a great source of information for my son, and I recommend it highly.

Click is a kids magazine that addresses the physical world in a way that appeals across a broad age range.

The Cricket Group seems to have cut its teeth on first literary magazines (Spider and Cricket), but Click is the complement, discussing the real concrete world of "people who work at night", "where things come from", "on the moon", and "surviving in the desert".

The articles range from early read-it-yourself to longer listening stories. Recurring cartoons with text "Clicks and the kids", "Yo wants to know" and "Beatrice Black Bear" are perennial favorites.

The real magic to Click is that it is a preferred read for both our 7 and 4 year olds. That is a tough spread, but Click has and is the favorite. When its time to read to both, or time for a warm comfort, Click is it.

When you order, find a safe place to keep the issues, because they will be read and re-read. And if you are doing the re-reading, you may want to refresh with last year's issue.

My four year old and seven year old enjoy this magazine which is published by the Smithsonian and Cricket. Working with one theme (ie, gardens, animal homes, working animals, flight, communication, etc.) the magazine presents the material with stories, comic strips, non-fiction articles and games. The issues are 36 pages long, not too long to read in one sitting, but thorough and satisfying. The photographs and illustrations are attractive and informative. The only complaint I have about it is that there are only nine issues in twelve months, a problem in my house since my older children's magazines come every month. Otherwise, this is an excellent magazine and well worth the money.

My curious 3 1/2 yr old pre-schooler is absolutely fascinated by the themes in this magazine. A few of the articles are above his level which means I will be saving the magazine in a slipcase for future re-reading. The last issue I received was on the theme of magnification -and we played with a magnifying glass and now more than a month later he enjoys pulling out a magnifying glass and magnifying all of the teeny tiny objects that catch his interest like the little metal balls in mazes, ants outside the house etc... Don't pass on this one, it has in depth articles, and plenty of pictures to engage a young ones interest too. What a great opportunity for open ended learning!

Quality Popular Crossword Puzzles Jumbo

This is my favorite crossword-puzzle magazine because each issue offers 90 Easy, Medium, Hard, and Challenger puzzles. Lots of folks want only Easy puzzles, but what's the point of that? I want puzzles of differing levels of difficulty. I particularly like theme puzzles. For example, puzzles with clues answered by various book titles. This magazine does not offer lots of puzzles with that theme, but the few it does offer are excellent. As to overall level of difficulty, I would say that most of the puzzles fall into the Easy to Medium hard category. I also like the size of the magazine--5 and 3/4 inches wide by 9 inches tall. This is perfect for working puzzles in bed before going to sleep--the primary way I use the magazine. The front and back magazine covers are soft and flexible, which also facilitates solving puzzles while sitting up in bed. Working puzzles before sleeping helps to take my mind off the day's many problems. And, finally, I hope that solving puzzles will keep my mind healthy, active, and strong during my long creep into senility.

I gave this as a gift for my grandma and she loves it! Will definitely do this again this Christmas.

I am an avid reader of Black Enterprise (BE)and have been since I was in high school and to date it is still the most inspiring magazine EVER. Its filled with relevant news articles, entrepreneurial sight, career advice, financial planning, investment, real estate and so so so much more. I first read this magazine at my grandfather's house. As I grew up I was a regular reader of my dad's subscription and when I went to college Black Enterprise came with me. My daughter and son-in-law have a subscription in their home and I talk to my 7 year old grandson about articles I read all the time. It is important that he understand the options he has and Black Enterprise makes those options visible.

After searching for quite some time for a fitness magazine which was not a men's magazine masquerading in disguise I was pleased to find OnFitness.

The information in OnFitness is high quality and addresses a wide variety of topics (i.e., information about fitness and well-being for children, women who are pregnant, people who are aging and so on have appeared in recent issues).

While the magazine is not as thick as other health magazines it also has a fraction of the advertising space found in many other fitness magazines (so page for page you get more out of it).

I highly reccomend this magazine to anyone wanting to get accurate and useful information about fitness. This is one health magazine that you do not need to feel embarrased having it lay around and at the same time that you can use.

This has to be the best fitness magazine ever. This covers everything. I found it to be an irreplaceable training companion. The editorial staff does a fabulous job of getting the information to you in a readable format. I felt that I could truly believe (for once) and trust the information that I was reading. No fluffy rambling and bad workout routines and neither is it stuffed full of advertising from unscrupulous advertisers.

Great to see the independent publishers striking out on what is a highly dominated market to bring the reader a legible, intelligent read.

If you are tired of the typical fitness magazines filled with 90%advertising and 10% credible fitness information then you'll like OnFitness magazine. You'll find yourself reading EVERY page of the magazine rather than flipping through pages and pages of advertisements. It's not a cheap subscription though. For the price, we should get 12 issues rather than 6, however, I still prefer this magazine over any other fitness magazine.

OnFitness Magazine, on first glance, is a flashy magazine with graphics and a lot of content. However, when you open it up and start reading, you'll see most of the content is just blurbs or short summaries of content that can be found elsewhere. It is the Readers Digest of fitness magazines, with some added computer generated graphics.

The publisher is also extremely customer unfriendly. Their twitter and Facebook pages are generally nothing more than spam links back to the subscription page. Obviously, that is OK on occasion, but why bother even posting when every tweet and message is a spam link back to the subscription page of their website. Don't expect anything from their website either, as the technology is years old and there is no content.

As an indication of how customer unfriendly they are, I send a polite tweet and suggested they occasionally link to some content (articles, authors, studies, etc.) to get a few more than 180 followers (pathetic for a national magazine). They responded by blocking me apparently the Twitter account is managed by a teenage intern with a poor attitude and zero sense about social media. They claim to have a "higher standard of fitness journalism," and "no hype" but they have shown that the people behind the scenes are the opposite and are on the lower end of journalism (and pride and marketing sense).

Just think about it a magazine that has not caught on has a Twitter and FB account, and rather than use them to invite people to review and discuss actual content, it is used by someone only as spam links and to block the few followers because they had the nerve to suggest using twitter to an advantage. If they don't have basic common sense to use social media in this age, other than their own personal snits, why trust them for any other content?

If you see this in the gym, certainly pick it up. However, if you want to pay, first take a look at the Twitter feed for something like Mens Health or other magazines. You'll get more free content in 2 days than OnFitness has in their magazine (yes, you have to filter some fluff). I see many of the reviews are several years ago, but now there is no reason to pay money to get content you can already get immediately, for free. There are no workout plans, etc., that other magazines include. If you follow a few fitness sources on twitter (and add in Dr. Eades, Dr. Taube, maybe even Jillian or Oz), you are getting the content you need.

In short, the publishers are years behind the times, unfriendly to customers and subscribers, and their obviously limited marketing talents are not a good sign for handing over a premium price for a subscription and risking them tanking.

There is something for everyone here. This fabulous magazine combines cutting edge information about nutrition, cardio, and resistance training. I tried to "casually" read it but found there was so much useful information on just a few pages that I practically needed to take notes. So this is NOT the kind of magazine you look at but then put down and can't remember what you read. There are many practical "take aways" that can be used immediately. The information is backed by research, comprehensive, relevant, and extremely helpful. Includes basic scientific info but not so detailed that your eyes will glaze over. So glad that I found this new periodical -it is my new favorite by far. Highly recommended!

Had I known Amazon carried this magazine, this would have been an . Now I know for my re-subscription. This is a fine magazine for traditional black powder enthusiasts. I re-enact and this magazine is filled with many useful articles and surprisingly, even useful advertising. If your interest lies in this direction, there is nothing at all wrong with this nice magazine. I just wish it was monthly and not bi-monthly!!

I belong to a Black Powder target Shooting Cub and this Book has great Pictures and information. I make items for the Club using some of the pictures. :O)

Hadassah Magazine

The articles are interesting and the money goes for a great cause. I highly recommend it.

This magazine is beautifully printed and illustrated. The print is

large and easy to read. ( Years ago, it was a large-tabloid size,

news-print affair....but, thank goodness, it has become more stream-

lined, and....even if there is less info in it, at least it is of

a paper type more ameniable to people reading and keeping it! )

The articles have toned down as well...they are now more centrist, and

some articles even have an Arab perspective or two, a sympathetic

and Humanistic view. This is all to the good...as the stridency of

years past was something very difficult for me to read.

However....HADASSAH officially calls itself: "HADASSAH INTERNATIONAL"

-or at least it does in its excellent "YOUTUBE" videos... I always expected at least half the material to be on what Jewish people -and particularly,

Jewish women -were doing around the world. But no...it is all slanted

to Israel, and what the people THERE are doing. Once in a while, a

four-to-eight page supplement, "THE AMERICAN SCENE", is added, (at least in the American edition....I can only hope other countries at least have supplements entitled: "The Canadian Scene", "The Canadian Scene", etc., as

well -but even this is not what I had always expected....quite the

reverse!) If HADASSAH, INTERNATIONAL is indeed an INTERNATIONAL Jewish organization and magazine....shouldn't

at least half of every issue be devoted to what Jewish women, WORLD-WIDE,

are doing?

In one issue, years ago, it was stated that "being Jewish, and FEELING

Jewish are two different things." I guess they were right in this.

Somehow, though born Jewish, I have never really FELT Jewish. I have

always felt simply HUMAN, like the rest of Humanity. To me, ethnic

differences pale beside the great simularities that make EVERYONE

A HUMAN Being. Perhaps HADASSAH Magazine would gain a wider reader-

ship -of both Jews and Gentiles -if they were to concentrate on

SIMULARITIES between Jews and others, and not the differences. In

dping so, HADASSAH could go a long way in fighting anti-semitism...

because it's real hard to hate people who are more similar than

differnt from you.

HADASSAH Magazine has come a long way from the xenophobic, almost

paranoid publication it was twenty years ago. I can only hope it

will continue -by showing more articles on WORLDWIDE Jewish life,

-and so reflect, more correctly, upon the name, 'HADASSAH, INTERNATIONAL", and also maybe even have a few articles on world-wide

Christian, Moslem, Buddist, and Humanist life. My rabbi

taught us that all people are equal under ONE God. Only God is different.

And we are ALL His equally-beautiful creations! This Humanistic side of

Judaism should be emphasized, I feel...in HADASSAH Magazine, and elsewhere. It can only serve to make everyone feel more comfortable with each other, world-wide!

This is a magazine I grew up with. I always liked its warm inspiring articles about life in Israel. Usually it has excellent photography, and its articles are colorful.

It is a magazine which for years has been read with pleasure in thousands of Jewish homes.
