Iv'e been getting Sfx for atleast a year now and even though older people tend to buy it as I'm only 15 I still find it really great. It has in depth interviews with actors and actresses from all the major sci-fi shows especially my faves Buffy and Angel. It also contains a spoiler section for all the major shows and reviews all the latest sci-fi books,videos,movies,DVD's and comics.

I have been reading SFX for well over 10 years now and it still has me reading from cover to cover every issue. It is funny, interesting, and covers everything events, tv shows, movies, books... I cannot count how many books I have bought due to the reviews in SFX, or UK television shows that I have sought out after reading about them in these pages. And I have not been disappointed in any of them. It is written by passionate fans of many genres and is without a doubt my favorite magazine (which says a lot as I get over 30 magazines a month!) and if you subscribe, you get the "subscriber only" covers as well as any nifty posters, buttons, or promos that they give away. I just got an "Arrow" poster with "Fringe" on the other side and it totally made my day!

I've subscribed to it for about 8 years now and in most issues find at least one interesting thing to see or do, place to go or stay, lots of good material even in the advertisements. If you're planning a trip to Britain get this magazine because it will be a great help on just about any aspect of your trip.

In Britain is the official magazine of VisitBritain, the authority on British tourism. The articles and features are always interesting and personal without sacrificing accuracy. Admission prices, opening times, directions, and contact information are given at the end of each article. And the picture are gorgeous. I only wish this magazine was monthly!

I decided to check out this magazine when I came across it because I love England and all things English. I have been there a couple of times and would like to see more of England in my future travels. This magazine helps me learn about the different cities and towns in England and gives me a better idea of where I would like to go. Currently, I am not planing a trip, but I still enjoy reading about the things going on all over in the UK.

I LOVE THIS MAG! Okay, I'll admit I'm an Anglophile. But even so, this magazine exceeds my expectations. It has the most beautiful photos. And the articles are so well written. And they all have that distinctive British flavor to them, so they're just a delight to read. I look so forward to every issue. And by the way, they have wonderful articles about traveling in the U.K. so I'm saving each issue in hopes of someday seeing all these lovely places. (Besides, I can't bring myself to throw away all those gorgeous photographs!) I highly recommend this magazine!

I certainly agree with the other reviewers that Britain magazine is a wonderful publication to subscribe to. I made a decision to purchase this subscription because I intend to accomplish one of my personal goals to visit England for at least a week. Britain magazine provides gorgeous photos and extensive information on the various travel gems and destinations to check out during your visit(s) to Great Britain. For example, I currently have the March 2011 issue of Britain magazine. The following is some of the fascinating information that is featured in the March 2011 issue that helps make the publication a worthwhile read:

1)There is a special feature on Unusual Museums (with some very original and fascinating places to symbolize the Unusual moniker). For instance, The Museum of Witchcraft is featured in this issue. The location of this one of a kind museum is listed as being in Boscastle Cornwall. According to the magazine, many witches and warlocks are currently celebrating the fact that it has been opened for 50 years. There is a library of over 3,000 books inside of it, and is known to hold one of the world's most extensive collection of witchcraft paraphernalia(in addition the website to check out this museum is featured in the March 2011 publication). The article also lists The British Lawnmower Museum, which is an innovative museum for lawnmower enthusiasts.

2)There is a well organized compilation of Places to Stay that are listed. A couple of the places that fascinated me are: 1) The Royal Oak House and 2)Regency Cheltenham.

There is so much more great information featured in the well-done magazine. In my humble opinion, you definitely get a good quality publication in Britain magazine for what you pay (overall good value for the money). This magazine is very worthwhile to obtain if you have even a casual interest in visiting and/or living in Britain.

I like the character and the many forms of artwork used to portray the character. And Supergirl is now featured as herself rather than Superman in a short skirt which is refreshing. Quality Popular Crossword Puzzles Jumbo

This is my favorite crossword-puzzle magazine because each issue offers 90 Easy, Medium, Hard, and Challenger puzzles. Lots of folks want only Easy puzzles, but what's the point of that? I want puzzles of differing levels of difficulty. I particularly like theme puzzles. For example, puzzles with clues answered by various book titles. This magazine does not offer lots of puzzles with that theme, but the few it does offer are excellent. As to overall level of difficulty, I would say that most of the puzzles fall into the Easy to Medium hard category. I also like the size of the magazine--5 and 3/4 inches wide by 9 inches tall. This is perfect for working puzzles in bed before going to sleep--the primary way I use the magazine. The front and back magazine covers are soft and flexible, which also facilitates solving puzzles while sitting up in bed. Working puzzles before sleeping helps to take my mind off the day's many problems. And, finally, I hope that solving puzzles will keep my mind healthy, active, and strong during my long creep into senility.

I gave this as a gift for my grandma and she loves it! Will definitely do this again this Christmas.

Flypast

Flypast is one of two of the best aviation magazines being printed today, the other being Aeroplane. If you like vintage aircraft and excellent writing, and hate those huge ads that seem to make up most of the other aviation magazines found on the magazine racks at your favorite drugstore or bookstore, this is an excellent choice for you. It's expensive, but any aviation buff should be completely satisfied with this magazine. Personally, I'd recommend a two year subscription (or longer) if it was offered. I can't recommend FlyPast highly enough. Five stars does not go far enough in praise.

This magazine is a gift to my son. He restores and builds antique planes, and says it is the best of all this type of magazine. My son would give you a much better evaluation.

To my mind, FLYPAST magazine is one of the best English-language aviation history magazines currently being published. I first became acquainted with it BEFORE Ken Ellis became editor, which really dates me. In the intervening years, FLYPAST has gone from strength to strength and is really a top-notch publication.

FLYPAST is a blend of aviation history and warbird happenings presented in a quaintly overstuffed English manner. The March 2010 issue, for example, is jam-packed with an appealing mix of historical articles, aviation "doings," museum news, book reviews and so on. Major articles include a description of an ATA pilot's attempt to ferry an accident-prone B-24 Liberator to its new base, missions flown by a Coastal Command Lib pilot, the RAF career of a noted Pathfinder pilot, Lone Star Flight Museum's newly-refurbished "Thoughts of Midnite" P-38, a survey of major American aviation museums, a report on Long Island's Cradle of Aviation Musuem, early RAF combats with the Italian Air Force in Africa circa 1940, the concluding part of a biography of WWII RAF ace Caesar Hull and so on. The articles are well-illustrated with b&w and color photographs, profiles, etc.

Also included in the issue are short updates on warbird restorations, aircraft movements, civil registration updates, an on-going Marking and Camouflage series, upcoming aviation meets/airshows, letters to the editor, etc.

Lately FLYPAST has been including special supplements on subjects like the P-51, 2010 Airshows, etc. at no additional cost. Since Ellis & Co. have held the price at $9.99, the reader is getting quite a bargain. (But, by all means, go the subscription route).

If you're an aviation history buff or a warbird enthusiast, FLYPAST is required reading. Highly recommended.

Naval Forces

Written in English, this is probably one of the best modern naval technology magazines, discussing technology, weapons, ships and includes sections in the back for brief world news and industry news.

Coral

This is by far the best magazine available to reefkeeping hobbyists. I have read every issue released so far. The magazine explains techniques promoted by modern reef aquarists around the world, and especially from Europe.

Some of the techniques are very new and the methods are not always viable by many hobbyists who enter and exit out of frustration, but the magazine has a basic section for new aquarists.

The reason for 4/5 stars is that some of the claims made by paid advertisers are insulting to the readers intelligence.

CORAL Magazine is alive and well and has a new publisher.

Coral Magazine skips the basics and ignores the temptation to cater to a more casual crowd with every-other-issue features on tank cycling and the dangers of overfeeding. Instead, it features less general topics with a slightly more esoteric approach while remaining accessible to common hobbyists such as myself. Having spent innumerable hours scouring the web and nearly every forum available on marine aquaculture, I can confidently say one can find novel information and ideas in Coral Magazine that are rarely, if ever, discussed anywhere else. (See August/September 2007 issue discussing what the author calls "induced longitudinal fission" of ricordea for a great example.)

This magazine provides incredible photographs, well written articles, and insightful commentary. Any hobbyist who has spent more than a few hours reading through books or online forums in this subject should greatly appreciate Coral magazine.

WEll, I shouldn't say cover to cover, but I do read more of this that I do any other magazine. I at the most usually get a weeks worth of casual reading from a magazine, but this one I get about a month out of. Between this and TFH I always seem to have reading material. I do with this was a monthly production though!
