terrific magazine for the militay modeler order direct or from amazon...stay away from Wise Owl publication in california...they will take your money and provide you with nothing but problems trying to get delivery of it

Model Military International (MMI) magazine is by far one of the best publications on the open market, when it comes to building military models. This magazine gives the reader a first hand, in depth look, at building your military model. The magazine offers various periods of history for the model builder to choose from. There are "builds" from WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Arab/Israeli Wars, "The Cold War" periods, as well as today's modern conflicts.

Each of the articles submitted, "shows and tells" how the model builder assembled his/her model. The builder explains some of the history involved with their model, sets the tone of the model(diorama setting), and then goes into detail about how and what steps were taken to build that model, using the "kits" supplied parts and/or some of today's "aftermarket" products.

After market products are items that were produced, after a model was released. Examples of this would be Resin parts,Photoetch metal, etc. all used to enhance the look of your model. The builder then explains (thru written text) to the reader, how they built the base(used to display the model), then a step by step how-to paint, and finally, a how to give that "weathered" look to your finished project.

I have purchased this magazine in my hobby shop, and now I own a subscription. This magazine is a must have for anyone who is interested in military model building.

My son loved this magazine for new ideas and learning about new products. We have only received one magazine in the past few months. If it turns out that we will only receive one magazine, I would not recommend this product at all for $19.95.

I have subscribed to this publication for many years now and I am never let down on the content. If you are in to any age Camaro, this is a great read!

This and other car magazines are a great gift for the man who likes and tinkers with cars. Now he's getting Mustang, Pontiac Performers, and this one to help him restore the three or four old classics from the 1960s and early 1970s that he's got in his home garage.

Collegiate Baseball

This is a great read for anyone who really enjoys amateur level baseball. Great articles and great information. I'd recommend this to anyone with a son in High School baseball and beyond.

Flypast

Flypast is one of two of the best aviation magazines being printed today, the other being Aeroplane. If you like vintage aircraft and excellent writing, and hate those huge ads that seem to make up most of the other aviation magazines found on the magazine racks at your favorite drugstore or bookstore, this is an excellent choice for you. It's expensive, but any aviation buff should be completely satisfied with this magazine. Personally, I'd recommend a two year subscription (or longer) if it was offered. I can't recommend FlyPast highly enough. Five stars does not go far enough in praise.

This magazine is a gift to my son. He restores and builds antique planes, and says it is the best of all this type of magazine. My son would give you a much better evaluation.

To my mind, FLYPAST magazine is one of the best English-language aviation history magazines currently being published. I first became acquainted with it BEFORE Ken Ellis became editor, which really dates me. In the intervening years, FLYPAST has gone from strength to strength and is really a top-notch publication.

FLYPAST is a blend of aviation history and warbird happenings presented in a quaintly overstuffed English manner. The March 2010 issue, for example, is jam-packed with an appealing mix of historical articles, aviation "doings," museum news, book reviews and so on. Major articles include a description of an ATA pilot's attempt to ferry an accident-prone B-24 Liberator to its new base, missions flown by a Coastal Command Lib pilot, the RAF career of a noted Pathfinder pilot, Lone Star Flight Museum's newly-refurbished "Thoughts of Midnite" P-38, a survey of major American aviation museums, a report on Long Island's Cradle of Aviation Musuem, early RAF combats with the Italian Air Force in Africa circa 1940, the concluding part of a biography of WWII RAF ace Caesar Hull and so on. The articles are well-illustrated with b&w and color photographs, profiles, etc.

Also included in the issue are short updates on warbird restorations, aircraft movements, civil registration updates, an on-going Marking and Camouflage series, upcoming aviation meets/airshows, letters to the editor, etc.

Lately FLYPAST has been including special supplements on subjects like the P-51, 2010 Airshows, etc. at no additional cost. Since Ellis & Co. have held the price at $9.99, the reader is getting quite a bargain. (But, by all means, go the subscription route).

If you're an aviation history buff or a warbird enthusiast, FLYPAST is required reading. Highly recommended.
