Knives Illustrated

Knives Illustrated"The first issue should arrive in 6-10 weeks." I got mine in 9 weeks, that is quite a wait.

The magazine seems "retro" in looks and feel. Blade Magazine has more pictures and articles. There seems to be a bias to advertisers products in the articles.

I did notice this in Knives' Illustrated.

Wished they would print an issue every month, but at first I was disappointed(I'm used to reading BLADE which is outstanding) and not up-and-up with some articles, but a few did interest me, but the articles that interested me were about swords!!!

I've only got one issue so far, another should be on it's way.

I did noticed the "closed in" feel, it's just not as open as BLADE magazine is. Just look at their knife show calender, not too many small shows, and most are huge and highly affiliated somehow with Knives Illustrated. There seems to be more of "pleasing the upper management" of the Publishers with Knives' Illustrated. It's the only alternative to Blade, and will I resubscribe? Yes while it isn't as good as BLADE, it's interesting and you will learn something.

It is a little pricey, but if you don't mind the cost, it is worth the money. Full of pics and information. Some issues are better than others depending on your interest. I like knives and enjoy viewing what is being done in the knife world.

Soaps in Depth - CBS

Soaps in Depth - CBSOk, the secret is out... I'm a closet soap opera fan. I watch As The World Turns and Guiding Light regularly, and occasionally All My Children. This magazine is ideal for someone who's a casual viewer and only follows one network. The writing is that great, although it isn't bad, per se. It's just very elementary. Other magazines about soaps have more intelligent critiques of acting and stories. The "spoilers" aren't as good as in other magazines, either, and the recaps aren't as up to date as in SOD or SPW. Overall, for what it costs, I'd say just get Soap Opera Digest or Soap Opera Weekly. It's a bit better than Soap Opera Update, though, which is why I gave it 2 stars as opposed to 1.

This magazine is a weekly publication addressing events that will occur in the next week on the soaps. It is intended to inform you of coming events to improve the viewing experience. My issue with this publication is that it rarely is received by Friday and most often comes in the middle of the next week. Not likely to order this item again.

Strings

StringsThis mag is a must for players at a bargain price! Bountiful information from performers across a wide spectrum (Cajun, jazz, classical), luthiers and more!

At 60 yrs. old I took up the fiddle a year ago and am having a great time with it. This magazine was instrumental in getting me on the right track. I find the articles on violin helpful even though that isn't my genre. They of course also have articles pertaining to fiddling and even the ads are helpful in knowing what is out there.

This magazine was a gift for an aspiring young artist (the violin) and he's enjoying it tremendously according to his mother. :-)

Massage

MassageI ordered my subscription in July. Here it is mid-September and I have not yet received one issue, and I'm wondering if I ever will. Other reviewers say it's a great magazine. I'll have to take their word for it. I'm a little miffed at how long it's taking to be delivered.
