Brain World

Brain WorldBrain World is such a wonderful magazine. It contains all the most up to date information about the brain. There's always a good balance of top neuroscience with entertainment (fun celebrity profiles and their work with the human mind) and practical tools & tips for realizing the great value of your brain. It is a visionary magazine, bringing attention to our huge potential as human beings, our natural desire to help others and the earth, and new ways for actualizing it in our lives.

Easily outstrips Psychology Today in regard to an intellectual approach to the subject matter and rivals, and in places excels Discover's quarterly brain series. Smart, cutting-edge articles that the even somewhat initiated layman will be able to comprehend, while none of the writing is at all dumbed down. A great find!

This magazine has interesting articles about the brain that will appeal to many different people. It doesn't talk up and it doesn't talk down but shares in a smart and savvy fashion information for scientists, educators, professionals, parents, students and the rest of us. It's really comprehensive. I always look forward to the next issue.

It was a gift. I had never heard of the magazine. I am assuming he liked it as he requested it.

Also, I don't mind shopping on Amazon but the surveys are rediculously time consuming. I prefer not to get surveys.

Electric Flight (1-year auto-renewal)

Electric FlightI bought a subscription of this for my father-in-law as an early Christmas gift in November of 2009. I was told though that he wouldn't receive a copy until March. I was a little miffed at the late start, but let him know it was coming. By the third week in March of this year he still hadn't recieved it. I called the company and they said it should arrive in a week or so. Now, in the second week in April, he still hasn't gotten it. Once again I called them to find out the problem. This time I was told that they had cancelled the subscription because delivery of the magazine had failed. They had cancelled it without notice or refunding my account. After 10 minutes on the phone I finally got them to reinstate the subscription. Now I'm supposed to expect the July edition in May. Aka wait at least another 6 weeks to receive something that is already late.

My father-in-law loves the magazine, but frankly it's hard to appreciate something you never receive. If it doesn't show up in the coming weeks I'm cancelling the subscription and sending him a very apologetic card.

After purchasing the subscription it seems to take forever to get your first copy(but no matter how you order a magazine it seems this way). The magazine is excellent. It concentrates on smaller RC airplanes, especially electrics.

Expensive magazine (over $3.00 per issue) geared to the new flier. Lots of advertising embedded in the articles. You would be better served by logging on to rcgroups.com or wattflier.com to get good solid articles and unbiased reviews from the people who bought and fly the planes. Oh yeah, the half dressed teeny-boppers on many of the covers makes you wonder what time zone (60's perhaps) the editors live in!

I ordered a subscription for the Electric Flight magazine online and have yet to receive an issue. I believe the magazine would be something I would enjoy reading but I wouldn't know. If I had any suggestions to offer, I would never order online again for a magazine subscription as this seems to be a waste of money, time, and effort.

Mostly agood purchase guide, but I guess not one builds much these days unless they are experts. The hobby used to be mostly builders.

Diabetic Cooking (1-year auto-renewal)

Diabetic CookingThe recipes in these cookbooks are not only great for helping to control your blood sugars, they're also extremely "points friendly" if you're following the Weight Watchers Flex Plan. Most recipes range from 3-5 points per serving, with quite a few on the low end at 2 and very few reaching the high of 7.

Good little magazine with great recipes. Great guide for sodium and fat intake as well.

This is a fantastic magazine for those of us who have the need to prepare diabetic meals, either for ourselves or loved ones. The meals and desserts in this magazine are fantastic, better than any other diabetic cooking magazine I have read thus far! The only drawback is how long it takes for them to finally start the subscription...over 12 weeks! In my opinion that is rediculous.

Let me just say that this magazine is great. The recipes are very good usually and have provided some fantastic ideas to support a healthy and tasty dietary plan.

My only issue is with the subscription process, which I won't ding the magazine content for.

If you buy this magazine, please be very careful to watch out for the renewal notices you may get suggesting that your subscription is ending on a certain date and that you should renew. I got a renewal notice saying my subscription would be ending after receiving only 5 months of magazines! I had placed the order in November 2009, received my first issue in April 2010 (about 5 full months after placing the order, they say 3-4, and having to pester Amazon that I hadn't recieved the magazine), then received a note in September 2010 saying my subscription ended in November 2010.

When I emailed amazon, they confirmed that my subscription really did end with the March/April 2011 issue.

Just a note to the wise not to get caught up in what was either a legitimate mistake or perhaps a marketing ploy!

Either way I do recommend the magazine itself!

American Bankruptcy Law Journal

American Bankruptcy Law JournalIf you are an insolvency attorney, you should be reading this journal And attending the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges. If I were new to bankruptcy as a practice area I would start with Bankruptcy and Related Law in a Nutshell (Nutshell Series) for Chapters 7 and 13, and Chapter 11 Business Reorganizations: For Business Leaders, Accountants And Lawyers for Chapter 11.

American Craft

American CraftAmerican Craft is a feast for the creative spirit. Fresh ways of viewing traditional crafts, new ideas, beautiful photos. What more could one want from an arts magazine!!

This is a pretty magazine but I won't be renewing the subscription. This would be a good magazine for trained artists who take their stuff to art shows and art galleries. I do mosaics and sell my stuff at craft shows and online. I didn't find much that interested me.

Buy American Craft Now

If most periodicals were produced with the finesse and quality of American Craft, we would not be having a discussion about the decline of such in the marketplace. It's a wonder to hold and a wonder to read. I've not tossed or even recycled a single issue.

Buy Full Cry Now

I am familiar with Full Cry Magazine and know that if I ever receive it, I will enjoy it. However, I have not received an issue since buying my subscription online with Amazon. In the future, I will not subscribe to a magazine from them. I needed the issue this month to review an ad that I placed but it doesn't look like I'm going to get it and this is not a magazine you can buy in stores. I may purchase books in the future from Amazon but I don't suggest that anyone subscribe to a magazine they want to receive in a reasonable amount of time.

Great magazine that is about hunting with dogs. This is the only magazine of it's kind because it covers old fashioned American style hunting for such game as Bobcat, Coons, Possums, Squirrels along with various big game like Hogs, Lion and Bear. The best part is the dogs, along with the usual Hounds there are articles about hunting with Airedales, Curs and Fiests and other obscure hunting breeds.

Awesome magazine in many ways: tells you where events are, has ads for great dogs, really educational.
