This is my 4th year having subscribed to this prayer book. It has the daily reading from the Catholic Bible, which contains more books than the Protestant version, and in three years, if read daily you will have read the whole bible. It has morning, Mass, afternoon and evening prayers, plus the saint of the day, benediction and a specific special old masterpiece art with background of of work and artist. A very special prayer book all the way around!I really think the Magnificat is a blessing and have used it off and on for years. Lots and lots of useful information, plus spiritual guidance!ive yet to receive the publication and am not sure how much more time i need to wait before finally receiving the publication. i look forward to finally receiving it.

Hi-Fi +
However, because HiFi Plus is imported from the UK it is prohibitively way too expensive to subscribe to in paper format. I wish the publisher would offer a Kindle version for North American subscribers. As an audiophile I do have to say it is one of the best magazines published in the world today. I have listened to equipment at local HIFI salons that was reviewed in the publication and found many of the reviewers claims to be spot on sound wise, which can often be very subjective depending on the perception of the person hearing a particular audio component and what it's hooked up to. A couple of years ago HiFi Plus reviewed an Sim Audio Moon integrated Amplifier,(that was given hi marks in many well known U.S. audiophile publications), and the writer thought it had a rather disappointing sterile sound quality.
Being an old fan of Sim Audio I heard that same amp before reading that review and came to the same conclusion.
I was shocked and angry when a so-called American journalist gave an A rating to the same amp in their prestigious publication. I suspect he had been bought off. Whenever you read the phrase, "it sounded so good that I bought the review sample," be very skeptical of the writer. For the writer either gets the component for free or at manufacture cost. I know this for a fact because I have known Audiophile journalists who have told me that's how they get compensated for writing positive reviews of products that may or may not be as great as they are touted to be.

C
If I need a cool idea, I find it in C.6 to 10 weeks? It's been 10 weeks and this magazine never came.
When I wrote Amazon customer support, they did not reply to my first message. I wrote again, and they said that I would have to contact the magazine publisher. So the bottom line is if you order a magazine through Amazon, they will not help you if you never receive the magazine.

Sound & Vision (1-year auto-renewal)
For some reason the British still have great magazines in all categories. Too bad they are expensive and not widely available here.
If you think the equipment reviewed here is expensive check out Stereophile land of $100k speakers and $10k phono cartridges.

This magazine reads like it's just quoting from press releases. It does not seem to be a neutral or well informed source of information.Read Best Reviews of Sound & Vision (1-year auto-renewal) Here
I've been a subscriber for about 4 years now, and love the topic (Home Theater & Audio/Video equipment), but this magazine has undergone a couple format changes that makes it hard to read.I think they're trying to appeal to a younger group of people who are obviously more interested in convienance 'hand-held' items, than in audio or video quality.
And this magazine suffers greatly for it.
Too many reviews, and too much coverage of (so called) "lifestyle" products to, like hand held app junk and the like, or remote control of house lights (who cares?), etc.
If there's "not an app for it", or doesn't appeal to someone with the attention span of a squirrel, it doesn't get covered.
Then they when down to only 8 issues a year, seems like its never arriving now...summer months? Forget it!
They were better when they concentrated on the hobby itself, comparitive equipment reviews, and the experimentation that makes it fun.
I'm hoping things will improve with this magazine in the future, (because I've got a lot of months left on my subscription!), but if not, then it doesn't get re-newed when the time comes...I've been a subscriber of this magazine for over 40 years. You used to get a new issue monthly and I looked forward to each and every issue. Then it changed to 10 issues per year and now it's down to only 8. Of course, the price remains the same. I got so used to not receiving it that it was hardly noticeable when I dropped my subscription. The part the toasts me most is that I paid for a 3 year subscription when you got monthly magazines. Then they cut the number of magazines. What a rip. When I contacted the company they hardly seemed to care, and did nothing to rectify my situation.

Finescale Modeler
FSM is easy to use and every month follows a standard format. There is the magazine index of articles; a break down section of what's new and that is divided up by scale, type of vehicle or model, and books/supplies usually a featured article or build of a model; several conversion articles or how-to articles; and then important work bench reviews.
FSM is very influential on the industry. Every year they offer a poll on the most requested models. Since 2000 nearly every requested 1/350th large scale ship has been made. Also, FSM will pull no punches on the work bench reviews. Lindberg made a ghastly 1/72 scale Japanese submarine with a miss-formed bow. FSM slammed Lindberg on that and challenged the firm on where they did their research. Furthermore, FSM has lamented the fact that Lindberg may produce a 1/200th scale "Graf Zeppelin" aircraft carrier and not one person can figure their marketing campaign.
Another thing a potential reader of this magazine should know is FSM does not go down in value. This reviewer has been reading the magazine since the mid-1990s and once sold a large collection of the magazine when moving into a new house. It was quite nice to find out there is a large market for the used magazines. Indeed, if you're doing a special conversion, such as making the proposed F2N-4 "swept wing Banshee" (competitor to the F9F Cougar) then you'll need this magazine because it will tell you how to convert the kits.
FSM is the best general military modeling magazine on the market. They cover everything from cars to rockets but spend 95% of their printed material on military items and of that amount the bulk covers the subject of WWII. So, a reader will see more than a few write ups on various models of M-4s, Panzer IVs, and T34s but will be treated to occasional articles on Hummers in Baghdad or a write up on scratch building a giant 1/96th scale ship model. This magazine has helped me develope my skills as a modeler for quite a while. I am still a novice but I have to say, using some of the tips and tricks found in these articles has really helped me. Every now and then I look at some of the detail that I would have otherwise missed. It makes the difference between being a toy and being a historical story. My dad used to build models all the time and I remember he always told me that building the model was the easy part, making it look real is the FUN (hard) part! The weathering tricks and scratch building how to's are all awesome even for an intermediate/skilled modeler. Okay, now I am rambling on. It's a great buy! Get it now, you won't regret it!Fine Scale Modeler is the outstanding modeling magazine. Filled with great photos and tips as well as detailed feature articles. No matter your favorite modeling subject, Fine Scale Modeler has it covered. The only real downside to this is the heavy emphasis on tanks and planes. I wish they'd put up more articles on other things. Ships or rockets, for example. That's why it doesn't get my 5 stars.I have been reading Finescale since about 1986. It has covered just about ever kind of modeling there is, so there is always some new information no matter what kind of modeler you are. There are other model magazines out there, that may be slightly better (depending on what kind of models you build), but those are more expensive. I build all kinds of models, so I have stayed with this one for many years. Once you start reading it, you will want to keep re-subscribing as well. It also makes a great gift for kids who have an interest in creating things.
