Southern Lady
My absolute favorite part of the magazine are the articles about women who are entrepreneurs and fortunately, there are at least two articles like that in EVERY issue. I get so excited about that part of the magazine. If they ever drop those type articles, I will drop the magazine. But I don't think they will because I think those women make the magazine special and set it apart... especially because the articles do not mention any of the financial gain of the women, just their love of doing what they do.
It is so wonderful and inspiring to read about others who got creative and decided to do something for others, their families and themselves. I think the magazine's premise is not about being from the south, but is about enjoying the beauty and joy of life that can be found in the south.

2009 Update: It's almost Thanksgiving and I just got the holiday issue. I don't know what has happened over the past two or three years, but the quality of this magazine has gone down since I first wrote the review. You will probably still enjoy it, but I don't feel it is worth the price anymore. It seems to have a lot more ads and a lot less articles and photos of substance. I attribute this to the publisher adding more magazine titles in which they expound on certain themes that used to abound in their magazines a few years ago such as: Tea Time and Sandra Lee Homemade among others. I used to collect this magazine and loan them out to friends as they contained a wealth of treasure, but the past year especially has been pretty ho-hum.Ephemeral visions of Royal Albert pink rose-patterned teacups, antique Spode teapots, vintage lace, and antiquarian books; snippets from my past four trips to England and France appear fresh in my mind with each issue I receive in the mail. Catering to the feminine lady who dances to a softer beat; who enjoys being a woman and all that that entails, this magazine is a respite of pure bliss. I often save my still-unopened newest issue for over a week until I can find that perfect little island of quiet time and alone-ness.....perhaps with a silver tea tray, a gathering of storm clouds outside the French door, a pretty needlepoint pillow, delectable candles on my pretty table. "Southern Lady" is a jewel, a rare find today.Someone got me this as a gift. At first I tossed it aside but later on a cold, rainy day I picked it up again and was enchanted. This magazine is truly like taking a mini vacation. Every single article is either restful or inspirational. It's a little bit of charm and grace in a world that is frequently neither.this is a "lovely" magazine! Can't wait to read it each month. It slows me down and makes me want to dream a little!Ephemeral visions of Royal Albert pink rose-patterned teacups, antique Spode teapots, vintage lace, and antiquarian books; snippets from my past four trips to England and France appear fresh in my mind with each issue I receive in the mail. Star Wars Clone Wars
We bought this magazine from a magazine rack, but found getting each issue unpredictable. Unlike adult oriented Star Wars magazines, my two boys absorbed each page. My five year old, who couldn't read, spent hours pouring over the pages and making connections between it and the other media we have. My nine year old enjoyed the trivia and stories. Each issue is well worn.
As an original trilogy fan, I have come to appreciate the entire new mythology the Clone Wars has brought into our house. My younger son is a huge Clone Trooper fan, while the older appreciates the Jedi lore.
The price is good. Delivery has been prompt. And each edition has at least one poster; they're really cool and adorn my son's walls.I love this!!!! I get it on time so I'm very happy! I love getting this through amazon!! I recomend this to everyone!

Golfweek
If you want rankings of every player worldwide, the money list and the weekly top finishers of every professional golf event from the televised tour events to the Greater Podunk Open with a top prize of $1,500 dollars, it's listed here. This is the only place that covers the college golf season in great detail.
While it's technically not a trade magazine, they cover new equipment announcements in a trade magazine manner cost, distribution and advertising plans.
If you combined "Fortune" with "The Sporting News" that's basically GolfWeek. They basically approach it as "the business of golf."
Which might sound like faint praise but it is actually a high compliment they approach everything with a objective distance even when they are doing feature stories on golfers. They are sometimes harsh but always honest & fair. While some golf writers dance around an issue of a Sunday collapse, they are honest and forthright enough to address the issue without getting personal or vindictive. This is not the magazine on trying to knock 2 strokes off your game, that's what the other magazines are for.
Just like "Fortune" for golf, it's on the business of golf: the people, the tours, the equipment and what's going on. It is a lot of info, news, analyses and statistics. It's not for everyone but if you or the intended reader is someone who tries to figure out on Thursday which channel has opening round coverage or watches the Golf Channel regularly, this is one of the best magazines in America right now, not just on golf (and I read about 85 magazines a month). Get it. It's great. (you can also check out their website to get an idea of the excellent writing but amazon.com is a much more inexpensive subscription).I know many people who are confirmed addicts to the game of golf and one publication they like to read is Golfweek. This magazine is the only golf publication I know about that is issued with this level of frequency, making it an ideal choice for those who can't seem to get enough golf.
Since this magazine is published every week, some of the information contained within might seem a little bit boring to certain readers. There isn't always enough going on in the world of golf to fill a magazine from one week to the next. But the editors of Golfweek manage to find enough to complete each issue. They do so by stressing any news, minor or major, about golf and by including recent scores and worldwide rankings of golfing professionals and even of college golf teams.
Golfweek doesn't dedicate as much space as other golf magazines to the area of learning, and this could disappoint some readers who want to learn some new tips. Statistics, scores, and breaking news seem to be foremost in importance with this magazine. This is nice, but I would like to see a little more advice from the pros on how to reduce my handicap and improve my golfing game.
Golfweek is still a good publication for those who are fanatical about the game of golf. It doesn't offer many personal stories about the different personalities of golf and it doesn't offer many learning tips. But those who are addicted to golf will love it nonetheless. It brings the world of golf to your mailbox every week, with updates on scores, tournaments, and news.

Revolver (1-year)
Read Best Reviews of Revolver (1-year) Here
I have been an uber-loyal reader of Revolver for well over 6 years now. They cover all of the sub-genres of Rock, and Metal, and even some of the Emo-style poopy (not a fan, can ya tell?). They do have some cheesy articles, like how to dress like so-and-so, but I do like the page that showcases a musician and shows a few tattoos and talks about them. Vinny Paul (pantera, damageplan, etc..) and Cristina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil) both have thier "advice" columns. I have been turned on to new bands through Revolver, since 90% of what I like is not regular radio airplay (oh how I want sirius). I love -LOVEthe yearly "Hottest Chicks in Metal" issue, which they have now added a page for the monthly hottest chick in metal. If ya love metal, finding out new artists, and love hot chicks this is for you! Oh, and did I mention I'm a married 30 year old mother of 2 toddlers? Yea, this mag is for all into Rock and Metal!Want Revolver (1-year) Discount?
I am still waiting for the first issue. I bought in January, and it says I am not getting anything till May.That is plain ridiculous. Should say that from the beginning.
