ADDitude

ADDitudeI was diagnosed with ADHD shortly after my 7 yr son and immediately began to scour the Web for info. There is a lot of info but you have to take the time to find it this magazine brings all of that info together in print and online in short easy to read (particularly to those of us with ADHD) format. I want to know all the latest info on ADHD and now I can without the previous time and effort required. Because there's no "cure" for ADHD, it's a daily struggle (even with medicine) to find what works for you to help you overcome the frustrations and limitations resulting from the condition. The magazine helps remind me that I'm not alone in my struggles and that many other people have faced and are facing the exact same struggles. There's a strange comfort in kowing that. And I've learned a lot of useful tips which help me keep the negative aspects of the condition in check while allowing the positive aspects to come out. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this magazine! You will learn so much in each issue!

I am a pediatrician with 2 ADHD children. Although I have alot of technical knowledge on the subject, I have found this magazine extremely helpful in terms of suggestions for problem-solving day-to-day issues, and keeping things in perspective (if they discuss the same problems we're having in a magazine, then the challenges my kids face and my less-than-perfect parenting are not failures of discipline and self-controlwe're just part of the ADHD community!) Very straightforward, balanced, but mainstream viewpoint. Lots of practical articles about living with ADHD in all settings and behavioral/ cognitive interventions. Doesn't push medication, although it does provide information and tips on dealing with side-effects. Also light on coverage of alternative therapies. Plenty for both affected adults, teens and parents of ADHD children.

This has been one of the most helpful magazines re ADD/ADHD issues that I have come across. Would encourage anyone who is touched by this issue to subscribe.

I had no idea there was so much help, resources or products out there to help those of us with ADD. This magazine AND the Web site of the same name were essential when I was first diagnosed.

Web Designer - England - Incls CD-Rom

Web Designer - England - Incls CD-RomThis is a must-read for the webmaster, web host, or web designer. It is chock full of reviews, articles, and tutorials that keep the web-head ahead of the pack.

Each issue has a CD with typically cool stuff...trial or full programs (both PC and MAC), add-ins for Adobe titles, website templates, graphics, fonts, and more. Heck, the software alone is worth the price of the mag.

I'm building quite a library of images, fonts, templates, and icons just from the CDs in the issues I've purchased.

Incidentally, this is a UK (British) publication. This explains (a) the high price, (b) the funky spelling of some words, and (c) the prices listed in pounds.

I suggest you buy a few issues from a local store to see if you're going to get your money's worth from a subscription. I happen to live about 60 miles from the nearest bookstore chain that carries this title. Driving time and fuel costs make a subscription worth it for me. (I want that disk!)

Enjoy!

Chevy High Performance (1-year auto-renewal)

Chevy High PerformanceCHP is a must in any Chevy lovers house. Has been a regular in our house for many years. Always learn something new or better ways to work on my Chevy. Most up to date information.

The tech articles in chevy high performance are second to none. They writers really know a lot about engines and I have yet to read the tech section without learning something new.

Beyond that it is a great magazine all around, but my favorite part is the tech.

Pop Star

Pop StarPopstar would be a great choice for concerned parents wondering what subscription to get for their ten-year-old kid, because unlike many celebrity news magazines (even more teen-oriented ones), Popstar is most likely the safest one out there. It covers a great deal of celebrities that aren't huge yet, and tons of stuff about favorites like Lindsay Lohan, Hilary Duff, Raven, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, the cast of Harry Potter, Good Charlotte, etc. There are thousands of pinups and huge posters in each issue that will satisfy any music/TV/movie fan.

Another thing I like about this magazine is that it's legnthy (each issue is 100 pagees), and there aren't any advertisements, either. The magazine has frequent exclusive interviews and pictures with celebrities that can't be found anywhere else. Additionally, Popstar covers the month's best CDs, new artists to watch out for, embarrasing moments stories, horoscopes, a bit of fashion and beauty, and more. For those who want an interesting, informational celeb magazine, Popstar would be a great choice.

I think it was a little better in 2004 but it's still a nice mag! For those who love Celeberity gossip (like myself) except I wish it would "grow up" a bitbut I still wanna subscription for it!!!!!!!! The quizzes are really cool plus theres no health crap like in SEVENTEENso I'd reccomend this.

I bought this subscription as a gift for my 10 year old daughter who just loves these types of magazines. This one seems to be the best of the bunch with lots of posters and all her favorite stars (everyone affliated with Disney or Teen Nick). At the time of purchase it was the best deal for the amount of issues received.

This is a great magazine. My 9 year old loves it. I highly recommend it as a first time subscription through amazon. BUT about 6 months into your subscription you'll get emailed from amazon asking to renew it. Don't do it!! I ended up with a double subscription and had to call customer service at the magazine to change it to a 'renew'.

Okay, I don't care if you are a guy or a girl you will all love this magazine! I don't care what the others say! This does have life stories (embarrassing moments and things like that) They even include the stars in those. Also they have fasion tips and horoscopes (the horoscopes are more for the girls though). Also they give you advice on great CDs and movie that are out there! You learn all about what the star are up to and there are tons of cool contests. I really love all the pictures and posters. I also love that they talk about stars that aren't the biggest names yet like Stevie Brock, Chris Trousdale, Jesse McCartney, and Greg Raposo(just to name a few!) This magazine has it all and I absoulutly love it! I have NEVER missed an issue!

They need to speed up the process to begin receiving magazines... I ordered a month ago and still haven't received a magazine. Probably not Amazon's issue, but they need to put the heat on these publishers to get their act together. With the trouble publishers are in, given internet media, you'd think they would try a little harder...

Performance Bikes

Performance Bikesif you ask me, theres no better motorcycle magazine being published today that is as good as PB. great pictures, easy to read, and its a book that is geared towards regular people. they do reviews on the newest bikes, but more often than not theyre showing bikes that are a bit older and modified by their owners. and also more often than not these bikes are tricker than the brand new ones on the showroom floors. the guys that write this mag also seem to have a sense of humour and that comes through in their writing.

being as this magazine is based out of the U.K., ill be honest and say i was rather sceptical about subscribing to it. i used to get it at the local bookstores but one of them closed (borders) and the barnes/noble quit selling it. its my favorite magazine so i figured if i didnt try id never know.

i bought the year sub and sat back and waited....and everything worked out well.

ive since received 2 issues of PB straight from England. they ship them wrapped in plastic so both of them are in great shape.

if you like this mag and cant find it...bite the bullet and get it. it cost a bunch but to me its worth it.

.

Great Britain publishes the world's best English language bike magazines, and Performance Bikes is my favorite. Always plenty of full color pictures of bikes. They don't skimp like American mags, trying to sell a year's subscription for 12 bucks. The only negative is how high the price has become. $150 a year! Too high. Ten years ago I was paying $55 a year. But they have great comparos on bikes, helmets, security gear, etc. Plus articles you just won't see in American magazines. Tagging along with a gang of guys who bait bike thieves by parking a bike in a high visibility area and then beating the crap out of thieves who try to steal it. Don't look for Harleys and choppers in this mag. Sportbikes and nothing but sportbikes.

by far the best mag for sportbikes. no slow heavy stuff here, just fast hooligan fun!

Colors - French Edition

Colors - French EditionYes, this magazine is published by Benneton. Yes, the people who sell clothes that are fashionable but only fit people who are anorexic.

The concept of the magazine is "a magazine about the rest of the world". A hard promise, but it delivers. Each issue addresses one topic with excellent pictures and writing in two languages (English, French, Spanish, Italian). The topics have included: teenagers, family, Buddhist prayers, water, touch, race, mamma, etc.

The writing is sympathetic and informative. The pictures and graphics are eye-opening and sometimes shocking. Ads are minimal and are not usually mixed with the content. There is always a section where you can get more information.

Also, COLORS changes with the times. It occasionally comes in different sizes, occasionally it has come with two magazine in one issue and other variations. The latest issue (teenagers) has codes that you hold up to your computer camera when you are on their website and see the pictures come to life on your computer screen and hear the people in the pictures giving you more information about their lives.

I don't think that you save anything by buying a subscription. I got it because after reading this magazine for almost 20 years, I still don't want to miss a single issue. I can usually find it in the big-box bookstores, but I have missed a few that way.

Enjoy!

the magazine is as good as you can imagine--each issue on a different subject, beautifully designed and written and bilingual, but you are lucky if you will get the magazine months after they send it from Italy --if you get it at all. They won't send them by air and they don't seem to sell them in stores unfortunately.

Frankie - Australia

Frankie - AustraliaI've been looking for a magazine that has a particular aesthetic feel to it.. a little crafty, but not too pastel-looking, graphically organic, but not too 'DIY' feeling. When I visited Australia, I was looking through the book store and found this magazine and grabbed it immediately!! It's a great magazine filled with beautiful simple layout design and great information on Australian/European talent. If I had to compare, Nylon Magazine would be like Urban Outfitters and Frankie Magazine would be like Anthropologie (shopping-wise). I just wish that Frankie Mag would deliver to the states at a lower price. :( But other than that, I'm hooked!!

to this magazine! its got some great articles in there... great for an easy read too...

even if its to read something by mia timpano its worth buying..... good for a laugh!

for anyone wanting a magazine with a bit more substance than cosmo

Steelers Digest

Steelers DigestI decided to give this a shot. I called the publisher directly so that my order went through directly with them and I received my first issue 3 days later. When ordering from the publisher you can also get some incentives. The coverage is very professional and you really don't get this coverage anywhere else. This paper is all on only the Steelers which is nice. Through the whole season I only got maybe 2 issues late and it was expected as it was during the holidays. The single review that was left years ago should be binned. Slow delivery isn't the publisher's fault, clearly that person's local post office has poor delivery. The publisher offers a 1st class option which hides and protects your issues in an envelope for an extra cost which is nice. I really didn't need this though. I'll definitely be getting this again.

i did not get the publication! I hope I have not been charged for it! I repeat I did not get tthe publication !!!!!!!!!
