Street Rodder (1-year auto-renewal)

Street RodderI renew this every year for my dad for his birthday. He's building a 32' Ford from scratch. This is his favorite mag!

I subscribed for my husband who builds street rods. He likes it and I enjoy it too. I recommend it! Way less expensive to order through Amazon than the magazine subscription price!

I can't tell you in great detail what's great about this magazine. All I know is that my husband loves it and has been reading it for years. I think it's one of the best of its kind out there.

Birds & Blooms

Birds & BloomsMy family has enjoyed this magazine for years. I agree that the solicitations for renewal are overkill and addressed this concern by having my mother's subscription sent to me. The beautiful photography is a joy for Mom now that dementia has limited her ability to read. Other magazines are often tossed in the trash, but Birds and Blooms is enjoyed by three generations until the pages are worn. It's great to have a magazine that focuses on something positive. Birds and Blooms is a feast for the eyes and a celebration of the beauty that surrounds us. It's as if an old friend has stopped in for a visit when Birds and Blooms arrives in the mail.

This is a great magazine for the amateur birder and gardener. It focuses on backyard birding and flowers, and has very informative articles. I also really enjoy the stories and tips shared by other readers. Just makes you feel good to read it! I've given this as a gift to my mother, sister and grandmother, and they all love it and continue to subscribe. I did not experience any problems with those subscriptions, however I did go direct thru the magazine itself.

I love this mag because it has beautiful photography and great articles about my favorite creatures. It isn't ad heavy and is well written.

7 Issues per year, but ... "Birds & Blooms publishes one special issue per year that counts as 2 issues in your subscription." Wow, that's the kind of math and word redefinition that only a politician could love. I quoted that from the "Early Renewal/Free Year Notice" I received in the mail.

Very nice magazine, enjoyed by all, but I don't know why they have to lie about the subscription in all the big font, and only tell the truth in the teeny-weeny typeface at the bottom of the renewal notice. Just give us the facts, we can handle it.

Cross Stitch Collection

Cross Stitch CollectionWhat a fabulous magazine! The designs are more intricate and sophisticated than those found in American magazines yet the charts are still as easy to read. Just wish it wasn't quite so expensive or could be charged month by month! Carol Lehr

I have been a huge fan of this UK magazine for several years now. The projects are absolutely beautiful and not the sappy, cutesy stuff we publish here in the states. These are projects that actually take time, thought and talent and give you the most wonderful sense of accomplishment when you finish it. These are heirloom projects that your great-grandchildren will treasure. Well worth the subscription price.

Love this magazine but would rather go to the store and purchase. I am so far missing 3 issues and have written 6 e-mails with no satisfaction to the publisher of Cross Stitch Collection. I finally decided to call Amazon and they are giving me a credit for the missing issues. The one issue that I really wanted I was told was sold out and they sent another magazine which I threw out. Had nothing of interest for me. I was told that my subscription ran from April 2010 to April 2011 from Amazon. The magazine publisher said my subscription ran out in February. I was supposed receive 12 issues. Never again would I order from them. They are not a reliable company to buy from.

The reason I purchased this magazine was that I love the Joan Elliott cross stitch designs. I found out that these designs come out 6 mouths later then the magazine. I would rather wait now and get the original pattern.

Yeah, it's not cheap. But even if you only like the cover design and just stitch that one, you've gotten your money's worth. This magazine has great patterns for beginners, as well as those who want more intricate projects to complete. And if you order the magazine from the publisher's site, you can get a 2 year subscription for about $50 less than buying 2 separate yearly subscriptions through here. :)

These magazines are the greatest crossstitch magazines. The patterns are easy to follow and have a range of difficulty.

Our children loved the Ranger Rick magazine when they were younger. We ordered Ranger Rick Jr. for our granddaughter. According to her dad, she loves it and also loves getting her own mail. It is so nice that the magazine comes out with issues for more age levels.
