Intermezzo Magazine (1-year auto-renewal)
Buy Intermezzo Magazine (1-year auto-renewal) Now
I paid for a full year subscription as a gift... They never received any magazines. I have emailed numerous times and was always told it would be on its way shortly. Finally asked for a refund, but never received. BEWARE. SCAM!Read Best Reviews of Intermezzo Magazine (1-year auto-renewal) Here
I ordered this subscription last March (2009) and have yet to receive a copy. Have asked for a refund from Amazon. Very disappointed in Intermezzo. Will never bother with it again. Not bad. It took almost 3 months to arrive, but hell, I was busy. Content fairly good, a little pricey for what you get.Its like ordering a glass of most wines in most restaurants. Will I renew? probably notTuesday, December 10, 2013
Recording Magazine (1-year auto-renewal)
I do not recommend anyone subscribe to any magazine through Amazon that is handled by Synapse,Inc. The only reason I gave them 1 star is because I the rating system would not allow me to give them ZERO.I really get a lot out of Recording Magazine. It is great for both professionals in the trade, as well as DIYers, amateurs and beginners. I'm a professional, and still learn something new every issue!

This is probably the best of the magazines dealing with recording out there. It gives a lot of good information, not just product ads like some of the other magazines. It's definitely worth the money for the amount of knowledge you gain from the articles.Read Best Reviews of Recording Magazine (1-year auto-renewal) Here
It can be hard to find up to date info. This has it all in one place. Saves me time.Don't bother. I payed for this 3 months ago and am still waiting. How hard can it be to initiate an automated subscription in this day and age?Saturday, December 7, 2013
New Mexico Magazine
I definitely recommend this magazine for anyone who loves the state, loves the arts, loves the lifestyles that abound in New Mexico. I will be renewing my subscription yearly, since this is my favorite magazine.I want to like this magazine. In fact, I do like this magazine, except for the many many ads. There are ads on almost every page. There are full size ads, small ads, business card sized ads.
The pictures are lovely and the cover almost always draws me into the magazine. There are some interesting articles about this fascinating state I live in, and I am always interested in what they have listed inside. However, once I start reading it, I'm always frustrated trying to find the articles in between the ads.
This magazine has always had a lot of ads but lately it seems to have even more than normal.
I won't subscribe to this magazine for that reason.New Mexico is one of the most fascinating states in the Union, and for several decades New Mexico Magazine has provided tourist information about the state. The magazine highlights the state's tourist attractions and provides a calendar and list of activities and events. There are articles on culture, history, dining, and art, as well as reviews of books and music.
The photography, including even some of the photos in the ads, is outstanding--two of the best issues each year are the issues containing the fall foliage and Christmas shots. There is also an amusing "One of Our 50 Is Missing" feature containing stories of those who get New Mexico confused with other states or even think that it is in another country. The magazine would be a great aid for those who plan to travel to the Land of Enchantment.I subscribed for 1 subscription. Great magazine that showcases New Mexico. Did not renew, as I really don't have time to read it.Order a subscription for less cost at the New Mexico Magazine website. The NM Magazine subscription price is more expensive through Amazon. One Star rating for offering more expensive prices.

Backhome
Filled with information for young and old, rich and poor, city or country (but especially country), Backhome is a good magazine from good people for the good life. You'll enjoy garden-fresh recipes, tons of how-to articles for the homestead, information on animals and herbs, reusing and making do, and humor to make the true back-to-the-lander smile and nod. If you enjoyed the classic Mother Earth News, come Backhome again. This magazine is more like a good booknot many ads, with excellent articles and no fluff. It seems like the best of traditional knowledge with seasonal relevance and modern consideration. Back Home is great for DIYers and those who are interested in sustainable living. Highly recommended.A very useful and practical magazine if you are a do-it-yourselfer. I highly recommend this magazine.

Ive thoroughly enjoyed the heck out of the 3 issues ive received so far. Even the articles that have nothing to do with me are interesting.Really wish there were more issues per year though.Who needs Martha Stewart's cupcakes and flower arranging? Not when you have Backhome's articles about solar and water generators, raising chickens and rabbits for meat, and which tractor is best suited to your needs. It even talks about the value of a good dump! (As in, that place you used to take your trash in the old days.) Not a frou frou magazine!

Acoustic Guitar
I have a couple years' worth of "Acoustic Guitar" on my bookshelves, unlike another popular magazine that gets read and tossed or given away. I don't save every issue, but I save a lot, as there's so much timeless information and good music to be found. In the few issues withing arm's reach I see a story on the music of "O Brother Where Are Thou?" with an arrangment of "Man of Constant Sorrow". Here's an article on Jazz Manouche and Django Reinhardt, with a tutorial written by John Jorgenson. Another issue spotlights the then-new MTV Unplugged phenomenon, and has a transcription of Clapton's unplugged "Layla".
Issues have covered contemporary singer-songwriters, Cuban "Son" music, African music, 1920s American Jazz guitarists... just about anything that can be played on a guitar. Evry issue is a surprise, and even if it doesn't have one of your favorites it'll have something you'll find interesting and useful. This a good magazine for someone who wants to learn to play folk or fingerstyle music. I have tried all of the other magazines and this magazine as far as content and price are above the rest. That being said, this magazine is only a good suppliment for your guitar learning. Even if you don't desire to do anything but strum an acoustic guitar, I don't think this magazine can be your one source of literature. I would recommend that this magazine be purchased along with one of the mainstream magazines such as Guitar One or Guitar World.

It is wonderful to see a magazine that focuses on the acoustic guitar player. So many magazines seem to zero in primarily on the electric guitarist and rock/metal artists. This magazine has a bit of everything. Interviews with musicians of various genres, music with notation and tabs, and tips on different guitar techniques. It's a great way to get to know artists whom I've never heard of before and seek out their music to listen to.I don't subscribe to this magazine (I'm a coffee shop magazine buyer), but I do buy it frequently. I'm a new guitarist who owns two acoustic guitars.I've been subscribed to Acoustic Guitar Magazine since December 2003. I really enjoy every issue in its entirety. It has a variety of sections such as: Guitar and equipment reviews, artist interviews, Music CD's reviews, music to play, guitar lessons, vintage guitars and history, tips, events etc,. Advertising is always moderate. I am seriously thinking to start purchasing past issues. Good stuff !!Indeed a Great Guitar Magazine !!
