DRAFT Magazine

DRAFT MagazineI subscribe to 3 beer mags; draft, all about beer and beer conisuer. Draft is my favorite of the 3. I really enjoy beer and I feel the Draft beer reviews are the most comprehensive. The beers they choose to review are typically from more well known breweries which makes finding them a bit easier than the beers in Beer Conisuer. The quality of the paper is nice and thick and the pictures are well done. The stories are interesting enough and short enough to keep your attention. What I dislike is that the magazine does not seem to come at exactly the 2 month in between period (it is 6 six issues a year) and the beer festivals that are advertised are usually over by the time I get my copy. Would prefert to pay more for a magazine that came monthly and had more reviews of beer.

I think the magazine is really a fun read for beer nuts like myself. However the articles tend to be a little to high end for my taste with the occasional local dive thrown in. Given that Beer in America is really at the beginning of a revolution you'd think the magazine would focus more on how these grass roots movements are growing and update the audience on their status.

The beer reviews are really interesting, usually the beer is available but not easily obtainable, which I like. Not so obscure as to be irrelevant but if you wanna try it you can't just go to BevMo, usually.

The layout is great, easy to read and find your way through.

I renewed my subscription.

Bought a deal for a subscript to Draft. Great articles and information for us beer drinkers and lovers. I found beer after beer and bar after bar to try out and loved that. I was moving out of state and have been trying to get ahold of someone to change my address since last year August. I paid good money for these magazines and can't believe that I couldn't get anyone to respond to get this handled. Have a great product doesn't excuse you from giving good customer service to the people purchasing said product. Get it together Draft Mag!

My only complaint is that there is no tablet or digital version to this magazine. I might cancel my subscription and look for something else as I hate wasting paper.

Vogue - French Edition

Vogue - French EditionI don't speak a word of french, and I barely read it, but I love this magazine!!! If you love fashion, get a french dictionary,I did, this is a magazine to savor! I have every issue since Ms. Roitfeld took over and will keep them forever! This magazine is very sexy, modern, french, well edited, up to the minute, bold, well designed(Fabian Baron) intelligent, I could go on and on, I've seen/get all the rest, including Vogue Italia, this edition has all the best stylists, photogs, and editors, I can't wait for the next issue!

The French Vogue is like the American one you remember from when you were a teenager, full of mysterious photo shoots that feature lots of smoking and nudity in odd places, and clothes that no one would wear in real life but somehow look smashing on the models. It's a fantasyland full of surprises, always something different and exciting. If you miss Vogue the way it used to be before Wintour made it a celeb rag, you'll like the French version.

Much better than the American issues. It is about the fashion. Not about babies, boring celebrites,or any other fluff. Thank You French Vogue.

If you go to Zinio, you can read this on your kindle or ipad for about $20 instead of the $100+ that they're asking here.

I don't know how to get in touch with the Magazine Express Inc. people, but I'd have a serious lecture for them about poor delivery. I always get my magazine about a month late (yes after it's been on newstands for that long) and that's IF I recieve it at all. If you move during the middle of your subscription, you're screwed. It took months to get them to forward them correctly to my new address and in the meantime, the few I missed were just lost. When you're paying upwards of $100 for a subscription and only get 10 a year (French Vogue only produces 10 issues), but 3 are lost in the mail, you lose 30 percent or your money. Bum deal.

Kiki

KikiI picked this magazine up at our local craft store for my daughter who is 13. She has been asking for some magazines to look through for "fashion" and inspiration. The regular magazines that are widely available are either too "old" for her or too barbie-doll for my tastes. This is the exception! I know the magazine business is a tough business to be in, but I hope this one continues to flourish. Great inspiring stories from real young people...fashion that is more about personal style then what's popular or trendy...great art, information, and even drawing and journaling prompts. There were even some funky art/craft projects that we could work on together. I will be ordering a subscription for her for Christmas. Really a great find. Thank you!

Bought this magazine for my 9 year old daughter who loves fashion, art, and creativity. What she loves about Kiki is learning about the fashion world, the crafts, profiles of cities around the world all wrapped in a grown up feeling package. What I love is no ads, no articles about boys or dating, clothing showcased that I would actually let her wear and real girl models.

Thank you Kiki Magazine.

I have two fashionistas, ages 9 and 7. We LOVE this magazine. As a mom, I am very thankful for the great content that is AD FREE! You will not regret your subscription!

Kiki is a good magazine for girls who love fashion, but not just fashion like makeup and stuff. It has really good ideas for how to reuse old clothes and there are crafts you can make with recycled things. They go to different places that are fun to read about, like Paris and the Hershey Chocolate Factory. There is also a design contest in every issue and it is fun to try out new ideas. They have models, and it is fun to look at the different clothing and say "Hey, I have that" and then you can make your own outfit. Most issues have an article about a girl who has a business or a hobby--like one issue had an article about a girl who made comics, and another one about sisters who made jewelry, and another about sisters who made lip balm. I just really like Kiki. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it only comes every two months!

(From her mother: I love that Kiki celebrates real girls--their models look like your daughter's best friend, not a mini supermodel--and they teach actual principles of design and fashion as an art form, and encourage girls to explore their own sense of style. The content never encourages girls to mature too quickly, as many other publications aimed at teens seem to do--instead it broadens their horizons and helps them develop confidence and a strong sense of self. I could not be more enthusiastic in my recommendation!)

We purchased KIKI magazine at our favorite local fabric and craft store: Fibernotion. Since then, we have fallen in love with it! Kiki is so much fun and my now 11 year old daughter looks forward to it coming every two months. The design is fun and it always has some great projects for her to do. There is an educational element ie, an article about keeping track of your money. They always highlight a foreign city; it's cultural attractions and history. There are design contests. My daughter, who doesn't think she can draw, entered an Umbrella Design Contest and was Honorably Mentioned! Diverse girls models clothing that kids can buy with their allowance, nothing fancy. I highly recommend Kiki Magazine!

Florida Sportsman (1-year auto-renewal)

Florida SportsmanI got this mag for my boyfriend, but I find that I read it before he does. It's a great gift that keeps giving.

I really like that magazine. Perfect bathroom material, lots of pic, lots of articles; but as previous reviewers stated it really does take a long time to get your first issue. If you order today, expect your first issue to come at least a month later. Its no fault of Amazon tho, just one of those things.

Took a little longer then expected to receive my first issue but haven't had any other problems with them after that!

This is the only fishing magazine my husband will subscribe to. He doesn't feel like most of the fishing magazines are worth it (too many ads, not enough content). He is so happy I subscribed him to it, and it's not a bad price either! We always order magazines from Amazon, because it's usually cheaper than the magazine's website.

New York Magazine (1-year auto-renewal)

New York MagazineI absolutely love New York magazine. I have never lived in NYC and might not make it there, but the magazine still seems relevant to me. Being a weekly, the articles are always timely, interesting and important. Not only does New York provide a sense of what is going on in NYC, it also takes on national and international issues politics to pop culture. I always read mine cover to cover and desperately wish L.A. had a magazine like this (Los Angeles magazine SUCKS). Funny, to the point, interesting.

It's weird that most of these other reviews are concerned with subscription problems. I just moved to the city last year, and subscribed to both Time Out New York and New York magazine. After about a month, I found myself tossing out TONY, which with its papery material feels more like a TV guide to me, and instead carrying my copy of New York everywhere I go.

While TONY is more comprehensive about local events (i.e. readings, concerts, theatre, movies, etc.), New York magazine focuses more on New York culture and news, and especially emphasizing the media's current focus. For instance, last week's issue had Caroline Kennedy on the cover.

I've learned to trust NYMag's restaurant selections, and the reviews tend to be detailed and useful. Every week, it lists new openings or reopenings of restaurants, along with general critic's picks, which I've found very useful.

The layout of the magazine is also very friendly and endearing. There's the approval matrix of people and things that are currently in or out of favor, the culture pages, and even events for kids, not to mention the least, my favorite -the weekly crossword puzzle, which I actually like more than the NYtimes's.

If anything else, be sure to get the copy of 'Best of New York' when it comes out, for a great guide to the best of what the city has to offer.

Not for New Yorkers onlythis midwesterner is a devoted reader.

this is a very good general interest magazine. Even the New York-centric content is relevant to nonNYC dwellers due to the importance of New York .

I have read stories here covered nowhere else, the writing is consistently goodquality, and the culture reporting is particularly good. While some of the issues are less useful to me , like Best of New York or Best Doctors, overall this is a good reference even though I am not dining or shopping or living in NYC.

And you have to check out the back page! It is the first thing I turn to when my issue arrives.

Truthfully, I thought I had ordered 'The New Yorker'; however, I received my first issue last week and was quite happy with 'New York." A one-year's subscription for $15 ($19.99 $5.00 Amazon coupon) was quite the deal! Thanks!

New Mexico Magazine

New Mexico MagazineI am not from New Mexico, nor do I live there. But I have a definite love of New Mexico because of this magazine. I have read it for years and eaten up every word. This magazine makes me feel as if I am from New Mexico. I feel like I know the state, yet have only been there a few times. If I had my way, I definitely would live there the rest of my life. Alas, I can only dream...and read New Mexico Magazine to keep my desire alive!

I definitely recommend this magazine for anyone who loves the state, loves the arts, loves the lifestyles that abound in New Mexico. I will be renewing my subscription yearly, since this is my favorite magazine.

I want to like this magazine. In fact, I do like this magazine, except for the many many ads. There are ads on almost every page. There are full size ads, small ads, business card sized ads.

The pictures are lovely and the cover almost always draws me into the magazine. There are some interesting articles about this fascinating state I live in, and I am always interested in what they have listed inside. However, once I start reading it, I'm always frustrated trying to find the articles in between the ads.

This magazine has always had a lot of ads but lately it seems to have even more than normal.

I won't subscribe to this magazine for that reason.

New Mexico is one of the most fascinating states in the Union, and for several decades New Mexico Magazine has provided tourist information about the state. The magazine highlights the state's tourist attractions and provides a calendar and list of activities and events. There are articles on culture, history, dining, and art, as well as reviews of books and music.

The photography, including even some of the photos in the ads, is outstanding--two of the best issues each year are the issues containing the fall foliage and Christmas shots. There is also an amusing "One of Our 50 Is Missing" feature containing stories of those who get New Mexico confused with other states or even think that it is in another country. The magazine would be a great aid for those who plan to travel to the Land of Enchantment.

American Patchwork & Quilting (2-year)

American Patchwork & QuiltingThis is probably one of the best quilting magazines you can buy! I look forward to receiving this magazine in the mail every issue! It is loaded with great articles and tons of designs--all with a great variety. This magazine has patterns for all levels and all types of quilters (appliquers, hand piecers, machines quilters...etc.).

This is one of my favorite quilting magazines, especially (but not only) for beginners. There is almost always something that I want to make in each issue, which isn't the case with most of the quilting magazines I pick up. I love the alternate design/color schemes for each project. Fons & Porter's is another good choice.

Buy American Patchwork & Quilting (2-year) Now

I subscribed to American Patchwork Quilting magazine for over a year, and to be honest I found it mediocre. The projects seem to be designed for people with 'high end' sewing machines and there are way too much appliqué projects, advertisements, and modern-looking quilting projects.

I'm an intermediate quilter, and the majority of the quilts featured are A: too easy B: seriously complex or C: way too contemporary. There seems to be no middle ground and few projects for those who like to make quilts that are more traditional looking. In fact this issue (October), features a huge article for some textile designer which isn't even about quilting or piecing. Bleh.

For this price I'd expect less adverts, more blocks, and more projects a traditional piecer might enjoy. 2 stars.

I have found American Patchwork and Quilting to be among the best in quilting magazines. I love every issue. The articles are informative and the patterns are simply wonderful. Not every issue will please every reader, but this one comes close.
