Review of Metaphysics

Review of Metaphysics"The first issue should arrive in 12-16 weeks." Sure, why not? The ROM is a quarterly, after all.

But after six monthsand after your "Where's my subscription?" e-mails get ignoredyou look at this part that you neglected to pay enough attention to before: "Cancellation: This magazine subscription cannot be canceled or refunded."

And then you realize Amazon has stolen your money, and is quite satisfied with that state of affairs.

Not only that, but when you click on the "Read more" button, you get a pop-up announcing that "Some publishers of professional or trade magazine subscriptions do not allow cancellations." Therefore, avers Amazon, adding insult to injury, 'tis not we but the Review who have robbed thee.

The Review of Metaphysics has a toll-free number through which you can order directly. Use it. Avoid being robbed by Amazon.

As a member of the staff of the Review of Metaphysics, I can vouch for the quality of our product. If you have a scholarly interest in metaphysical questions and you do not confine your interest to any one historical period or school of thought, then the Review is exactly right for you. You can order directly from our website and avoid the wait that Amazon causes. We offer discounts to senior and students and we will ship to non-US customers if they pay an additional $12 for shipping.

But of course, it's all the same to us if you go through Amazon, they will, after all, handle the billing for you.

The reason I give my own journal four stars is because of its narrow topic area. I must admit, that for the most part, this is not a layman's journal, but one designed for those that know the terminology of Aristotle, Aquinas, Hegel, Heidegger, etc and who already know the lay of the metaphysical landscape.

I totally disagree with the posting made by this gentleman.

All the years I am ordering through Amazon, I have never experience anything wrong as regards my orders and payments. I always got what I paid for !

Amazon is a great Store and I recommend it to all.

Afar

AfarPassionate about travel I find this newer magazine irritating. To me it says more about its target market (affluent) than it does about an enriching cultural expansive window on the experience of travel (international or national). The all too apparent leading edge from tips on high end places to stay, eat, etc. along with ads for those with a big budget, evokes the realm of the privledged traveler, no mater the "featured" destination.

A seasoned traveler, the AFAR subscription was given to me as a gift and I will not bother to renew it. I want to feel enriched after reading about a subject I love, not annoyed.

Shhh... the best kept secret among travel magazines. Wonderful articles. Beautiful photography. Warm stories about people and places ... and food! Written for an intelligent audience. Minimal ad content.

Buy Afar Now

A really great travel magazine with beautiful photography and engrossing stories. I've enjoyed it from the first issue several years ago.

Sometimes you want to just sit on your couch and feel connected to interesting people who love traveling as much as you do. This is what AFAR magazine gives you! Most travel magazines have disappointed me because they are just a lot of ads and stock photos. But this magazine introduces you to people who travel often and you get a glimpse into their lives and where they've been. For example, the highlights for me in the latest issue: a short essay by an editor about how as a child his family of six kids did summer road trips all around the country and how it was his mom's curiosity that drove the trips despite his dad's reluctance, an article about a yacht racer and how alive he feels when seeing cities at night from the water and a list of his favorite ports, and an article by a cultural educator in Waimea Valley, Oahu explaining how he grew up in Hawaii going to Kamehameha School (elite school for native Hawaiians) and what Hawaii and the North Shore culture mean to him. You feel really inspired to go out and see the world after reading this magazine.

TV Guide (1-year auto-renewal)

TV GuideTV Guide used to have complete 24-hour-a-day listings, plus terrific articles about TV actors, trends, etc. Then they remodeled it completely, and now they just aren't about listings, and their articles aren't as good. Sure I can surf the channels on cable, but my provider doesn't list shows more than a few hours in advance, and surfing the web for schedule info is a big drag. I stopped reading TV Guide when they stopped doing complete listings and having great articles, even though it still arrived every week for months. I'd LOVE to go back to it. It used to be something you could pick up really cheaply at the supermarket, for fifteen cents. But I wouldn't mind paying if I was getting a real TV GUIDE.

Though it was a full T.V. guide, not Prime Time only. What if you want to know whats on at one in the afternoon or six P.M.? Could not care less what the stars are doing. Just want know whats on T.V. ALL the time.

This publication only gives the TV schedule for prime time only, four hours.

Certainly does not include many channels.

I would never have bought this if I had seen it ahead of time.

It only shows listings for 3 hrs (in evening), yet it has page

after page of other material I'm not interested in.

It also seem hard to read the listings.

Want TV Guide (1-year auto-renewal) Discount?

I am not happy with the tv guide. There are no daytime entries......the time the programs are listed are from 8 pm.........the station channel #'s are not listed anywhere example CBS channel 2...... I have to use my daily newspaper to see what and when to see any programs.....I also refer to my tv channel selections which show only the next 3 hours or so. If I could get my money refunded, I would be very happy, because I find the tv guide useless.

Shotgun Sports Magazine (1-year auto-renewal)

Shotgun Sports MagazineI have been reading this magazine for a couple of years now. Each issue always has something interesting in it.

It has good unbiased product reviews, reloading info, tips on technique from some top professional like Chris Batha.

Outshines all other Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays magazines in my view.

I have been reading Shotgun Sports now for two years. It is one of the best publications for the shotgun enthusiast. The articles are timely, well written, and appropriate for all levels of shooters. I highly recommend it to all of you out there interested in shotguns or improving your game.

True Confessions

True ConfessionsTHIS is not your grandmother's TRUE CONFESSIONS. Your mother probably had to smuggle this magazine into the house and read it on the sly -not realizing that HER MOTHER probably had her own copy hidden away, as well. Why all the secrecy? There was always the fear that young ladies would learn all too much about life on the "wild side." In truth, no matter what the writer's experience, there was always a lesson learned and the chance to repent and begin life anew.

Today, the stories are all about modern women enduring the trials of lifestyles past generations could never have dreamed about.

If you have never read this magazine before, or always passed it up at the newsstand thinking it was somehow "dirty," or even WORSE -"DUMB" -I only ask that you give True Confessions a chance and read a few issues. It's sure to become one of your favorite magazines.
