Nascar Illustrated

Nascar IllustratedThe magazine is top notch, but you can subscribe via one of the little post card inserts for 12 months for $24.00. Just an FYI in case you don't really feel the need to shell out $50.

This is not a review of the magazine by any means. The magazine is absolutely fabulous. Articles are well written. Photography is top notch. But you don't need to pay $45 for a year subscription. I didn't know that when I excitedly ordered my subscription here. Go out and buy yourself a $5 issue and take one of those postcard sized subscription requests. Send it in and get a full year for $18.

It's worth the $45 but why pay more if you don't have to?

I wish I had been a little more patient when I decided to subscribe. Just goes to show that Amazon and its affiliates aren't always offering the best bang for your buck.

I have emailed them, but I can't get an answer and I haven't received the magazine as yet. It's a Birthday gift and I sure would like to know when I can expect it.

Thank you,

Sharon L. Dodier

TV Guide (1-year auto-renewal)

TV GuideTV Guide used to have complete 24-hour-a-day listings, plus terrific articles about TV actors, trends, etc. Then they remodeled it completely, and now they just aren't about listings, and their articles aren't as good. Sure I can surf the channels on cable, but my provider doesn't list shows more than a few hours in advance, and surfing the web for schedule info is a big drag. I stopped reading TV Guide when they stopped doing complete listings and having great articles, even though it still arrived every week for months. I'd LOVE to go back to it. It used to be something you could pick up really cheaply at the supermarket, for fifteen cents. But I wouldn't mind paying if I was getting a real TV GUIDE.

Though it was a full T.V. guide, not Prime Time only. What if you want to know whats on at one in the afternoon or six P.M.? Could not care less what the stars are doing. Just want know whats on T.V. ALL the time.

Buy TV Guide (1-year auto-renewal) Now

This publication only gives the TV schedule for prime time only, four hours.

Certainly does not include many channels.

I would never have bought this if I had seen it ahead of time.

It only shows listings for 3 hrs (in evening), yet it has page

after page of other material I'm not interested in.

It also seem hard to read the listings.

Want TV Guide (1-year auto-renewal) Discount?

I am not happy with the tv guide. There are no daytime entries......the time the programs are listed are from 8 pm.........the station channel #'s are not listed anywhere example CBS channel 2...... I have to use my daily newspaper to see what and when to see any programs.....I also refer to my tv channel selections which show only the next 3 hours or so. If I could get my money refunded, I would be very happy, because I find the tv guide useless.

Games World of Puzzles

Games World of PuzzlesThis bi-monthly GAMES Magazine spin-off offers sixty-plus pages of 'crosswords, word searches, picture puzzles, cryptograms, trivia, logic, double-crostics, cryptics and other pencil puzzles' reminiscent of GAMES' signature Pencilwise section. Most puzzles are rated on the standard one-to-three star scale of difficulty. The center of each issue contains a ten-page 'special section' of related puzzles. Each issue also features a contest with a $500 grand prize (and famed GAMES T-shirts for lucky random runner-ups). These puzzles are better crafted than those of the cheaper Dell or Penny Press competing publications and at $3.25 an issue this still offers good value. I enjoy the crosswords and double-crostics best.

Over my year-long subscription I accumulated a backlog of unread issues and eventually decided to cancel my 'World Of Puzzles' subscription. I'm saving the unused issues for future use. Single issues are highly recommended for airport bookstores and long airplane or train travel.

Amazon's annual rate is currently about $3.50 less than that directly offered by the publishers (each issue is loaded with subscription cards). However, be advised that subscribing through Amazon takes a LONG time to start (Amazon currently estimates 3-4 months between payment and first issue).

This magazine is on the pricey side, but it is packed full of really clever puzzles -of all kinds. There are the staples: crosswords, paint by numbers, cryptoquotes, battleships -but also all kinds of original, unique puzzles as well. You get what you pay for with this magazine. It keeps me entertained for many days (and nights). I save the old ones and go back to find a little nugget of a puzzle that I hadn't finished when I first looked at it. Great magazine -so glad it is on the market.

I have tried the basic crossword and logic puzzle magazines out there, the kind you get at the airport and so on (usually by Penny Press), and the Games Magazine publications, World of Puzzles in particular, are by far the best. The simple physical quality of them is better, the puzzles more interesting and just overall a better buy. I admit I have never finished all the puzzles in it, but it's also great because I can keep them a while and still find puzzles to do! If you do a lot of puzzles, get a subscription. If you're more limited on time and never finish as many of them as you like, you can generally find this at places like Borders and buy every other edition.

For those who love puzzles, Games and World of Games magazines are the ultimate in fun and variety. The crosswords are unique and include different varieties of wordplay. The sudoku has challenging designs, the picture logic I have not seen anywhere else, and the cryptic crosswords are amazing. There is a bit of everything for every kind of puzzle fan, but my personal favorite is Mixed Doubles which is a crossword play on homonyms. I have subscribed to this magazine for years and enjoy each fresh new edition.

Teatime Magazine

Teatime MagazineI kept getting cards to subscribe to Tea Time for about three years before I finally sent the card back. I thought it would be frilly and useless. I was very surprised by its content...pleasantly surprised! Not only does this magazine contain useful information on how to take tea, but also delicious recipes, interesting interviews, great ideas and fantastic articles about places to visit. Well written, beautiful photography, informative content, and an easy lay-out; Hoffman Media, thank you for providing some much needed grace and gentility to an otherwise coarse world! My home will never be without Tea Time!

I even like the ads in this magazine.

Everything is about being a little bit feminine, enjoying some 'me time', living in beauty and generally slowing down to enjoy what is around us.

The recipes are seasonally appropriate. There are lots and lots of recipes and they are about the yummy tea time type recipes. Chicken salad, napoleans, dainty cookies, tiny sandwhiches and more. Yummy.

The pictures are lovely and only add to the text.

This is truly an enjoyable magazine.

Enjoy.

The magazine is excellent. Beautiful photography and great recipies. I'm also impressed with Amazon's/magazine's customer service as I received my first issue within 4 weeks' time.

I have now received three issues of Tea Time magazine, and I love it. The photographs are beautiful I drool over some of the tea settings. The recipes are unusual, but intriging. This is a good magazine to sit down and dream over. But it is also practical if you are planning a special tea with down to earth suggestions.

My nephew gave me my first copy of this wonderful magazine and I was hooked. It is high quality in all areas. The photography is fabulous and overall quality top rated. The magazine is filled with great recipes for Tea Parties, or anytime, as well as highlighting a tea shop. I would say my only "complaint" is that they don't include some of the recipes from the tea shop they have visited, but perhaps those are ones the shop doesn't want to share. I like that even though there are a lot of ads, it is not overpowering at all -the recipes and articles are what you really focus on. I would recommend this to any Tea lover... especially those who love Tea Parties.

F1 Racing - England

F1 Racing - EnglandThis British magazine is a little (well, more than a little)pricey but it's an excellent, high quality review of F1 events, people, and races. It arrives in the US about one race late -so it's not the best place to get the "news," but the editorial staff does a great job staying on top of current F1 developments, rule changes, driver changes, and other controversies, so it still feels very current.

Overall it has the look, feel and content of a big budget production. Very good editorial content and great photos.

The magazine is great! It hits the news stands in the U.S. a FULL MONTH before the subscription arrives so don't bother. I have a year (maybe 2 subscription) and I don't bother waiting for it anymore. The previews are then 2 weeks after the races are run. It's really appaling and it seems there's noone accountable. Typical really..... Great magazine. Windsor and The Bish know their stuff! Just get it at the newsstand

Good writing, excellent photography, and a sense of humor characterize this stylish magazine. It is a must for any hardcore F1 enthusiast; and you have to be hardcore to pay $72 for a subscription in the US! This is not really a magazine one goes to for all the current F1 news (there's a bajillion websites where you can find that stuff); instead it provides in-depth coverage of political and technical issues as well as interviews with star drivers, team bosses, etc. I generally receive my copy a week or two after it is released in Britain; this is rather slow, but considering that the mag reaches most US newstands a month late, it's not so bad. The only criticisms I have of the magazine are that the editor-in-chief, Matt Bishop, seems to be a bit of an egomaniac who spends a bit too much time writing about himself in his pieces and interviews. This rather annoying approach is emulated by some of the magazine's writers as well. Overall, though, this magazine is a prize and worth its steep price.

I bought this and I've got the July issue but the September issue is already on the newstand. You are always 2 issues behind the newstand. What a ripoff! They must buy the bulk leftover unsold newstand magazines and ship them third class to have them arrive so late. Go to the newstand if you want it. There is absolutely no customer service to complain to either. They won't give you an email or a phone number.

Formula 1 is the pinacle of Motor Sport and this magazine is the pinacle of motor sport journalism. It includes indepth reports on everyone and everything related to F1. It will give you a much deeper and wider understanding of the sport. This is a great magazine that I have read cover to cover each month for about 2 years now. My only complaint is that it arrives about 2 weeks after it's publication in England, but it is worth the wait.
