All You (1-year auto-renewal)

All YouI highly recommend this magazine for working or stay at home moms. There is truly a little bit of everything. Inexpensive fashion, makeup tips, healthcare, nutrition, fitness, relationships, family, etc... It doesn't prefer one to the other and there are useful tips jotted all over the place that are truly useful. There are very few ads in the magazine and the ones they do have usually come with useful coupons. It seems to market young moms ages 25-40. I am 31 and when this magazine comes in the mail, I honestly read it front to back. No useless stories or expensive fashion that is out of my reach. I just hope it stays as consistent and true to the market they are reaching. Thanks All You!!!

7/29/08 UPDATE: I just reordered this for another 2 years. This magazine is still great and I actually start thinking about when another issue will be hitting my mailbox which hasn't happened since I was a teen.

Top 10 Favorite Parts:

1. Sudoku, Futoshiki, Crossword and Picture Puzzles in every issue

2. Table of Contents shows a picture of the front cover with page numbers for each tag quick to flip to what interests you.

3. Easy layout to read. There are ordered sections called You Self, Your Health, Your World, Your Home, Seasonal, and In Every Issue.

4. Normal everyday people no stick figure models in the this mag.

5. Fashion, decorating and make-up suggestions are all normal brands at normal stores (Target, Macy's, Gap, Walmart, Old Navy, LLBean, Pier 1)

6. Little fluff and most of the ads that are in there have coupons

7. Safe enough to leave on the table around kids (no kinky stuff)

8. Just enough family and kid-fun info but majority appeals to women so you don't feel so mommyish readying it

9. No gossip or celebrity picture. I don't buy anything that pays scummy paparazzi.

10. I can read it from beginning to end the first day and still go back to the issue multiple times thru the month for decorating, fashion and recipe ideas. Great value

I normally don't write long reviews but this is truly a great magazine!

EDIT: 7/7/09 BEFORE you order this magazine PLEASE look over the time it takes to get your first one in the mail. Amazon states it takes 6 to 10 weeks from the day you purchase right at the top of the page. All the 1 star reviews are from idiots who are mad their magazine hasn't come yet and "it's been a whole month!" Stop leaving poor reviews because it isn't All You's fault or Amazon's it is your own fault for not reading the obvious print on how long it takes to arrive. Be patient. It is a great magazine and doesn't deserve the bad 1 star reviews for people's lack of common sense.

All You is so very informative. A little bit of everything, for women of all ages. Food, self help, hair and makeup, relationships, children, crafts, and gardening; just to name a few. They are all jam packed in this magazine. That is why I so look forward to receiving it every month. As was said before, this wonderful magazine has many name brand coupons. It's like they pay you for receiving the magazine. Enjoy.

I really liked the information in this magazine and if that's not enough reason to buy it, it's FULL of coupons. You'll definitely get enough coupons out of this magazine to more than pay for it. :)

I subscribed to All You for 2 years and I been so dissapointed this last six months. First by the time we get the magazine (october in January)All coupons are expired and all the tips and items are not current. I worte to ALL YOU they claimed its the post office....post office said ALL YOU pays the cheapest way to get it to us. Unlike Oprah and all my other magazines(better Homes, etc) they all come on time. As for the coupons its not as many and expires so fast. We get only about a week to use it.( thats if I get the magazine that same month). I no longer will subscribe to ALL YOU.

This magazine contains several grocery coupons every month. Other than through a subscription, you can only get it at Walmart. I appreciate that many of the women featured look more like "real" women than the models used by most other magazines.

Sound on Sound - UK ed

Sound on Sound - UK edI've been a subscriber to every audio magazine I could get my hands on, and Sound on Sound is the only magazine that I still subscribe to. It's so amazing that I can't even bother reading other audio magazines anymore. These guys actually know what they're talking about!

I have the USA Edition, available on their website.

I interested in knowing about calculation of sound speed through solution of sound wave equation in ocean.

Weekly Telegraph

Weekly TelegraphThe Weekly Telegraph is a treat each week. Whether you are a UK ex-pat, otherwise interested in UK affairs, or want a different perspective on world events the Weekly Telegraph is for you. While it may seem a bit pricey for an annual subscription, the money is well spent especially if you want a real paper in your hands rather than trying to read your news of a screen.

Linux Magazin C-W Linux User No Media

Linux Magazin C-W Linux User No Media$179 seems like a lot for a $10 magazine.

Unless its two years, but there's no mention of time in the description.

I like this magazine, but not for more than what I can get it for at the newsstand.

Music K-8

Music K-8This is the best possible magazine especially for teachers on a budget. I am an elementary music teacher for grades K-4 and I have recently discovered this terrific magazine. It has quality sheet music in it along with a performance and accompaniment cd. With the purchase you have the right to copy the songs as you please. There are also many tips, activities, and worksheets for your students on various musical subjects. For a little extra you could order student reproducible parts.I believe that you can run a music program with just this magazine if you had to. The songs on the cd's are of the highest quality and with great instrumentation (without the cheese-factor). If you don't have an accompanist for a concert this would help. The price hardly fits this gem of a magazine!!!

Easyriders

EasyridersI like choppers and babes;but sleds are the main thing that makes you wonder which is the beauty and which is the beast! The rag falls short of being informational and useful. If the price was 5.00 per year maybe a good deal.Im glad I subcribed this time,to see how far down it has gone.ADIOS SUCKA!!!!

Easyriders is one of the most informative and entertaining magazines I have had the pleasure to read. H-D58s review is so distant from any reality that I am at a loss to understand his motives or his reasoning. First, there is absolutely no "kiddie-porn" in this magazine. I do not have the time, nor inclination, to diagnose why H-D58 would consider the exposed breasts of "Women" to be pornographic. But I for one find viewing the female form as a healthy and pleasurable experience.

Second, the "Easynews" and "Taking it Easy" sections of the magazine are so enlightening and enjoyable they are almost worth the price of the magazine on their own. Not to mention the exceptional journalism that permeates throughout, giving relevant and expert information covering all aspects motorcycles and motorcycling. The occasional "Women" that so graciously appear from time to time, only add a beautiful contrast to this highly respected and remarkable magazine.

I have read Easyrider Mags for years, being a seasoned biker I find Easyriders to be informative, has a varity of products and services. There articles are well written and the layouts of events are good.

This is a great magazine for anyone who is seriously into motorcycling and the "biker lifestyle". It covers many great articles showing and reviewing some of the best customs out there, not to mention they cover the standard factory bikes to, including classics. Oh yeah, and the babes aren't bad either!

Games World of Puzzles

Games World of PuzzlesThis bi-monthly GAMES Magazine spin-off offers sixty-plus pages of 'crosswords, word searches, picture puzzles, cryptograms, trivia, logic, double-crostics, cryptics and other pencil puzzles' reminiscent of GAMES' signature Pencilwise section. Most puzzles are rated on the standard one-to-three star scale of difficulty. The center of each issue contains a ten-page 'special section' of related puzzles. Each issue also features a contest with a $500 grand prize (and famed GAMES T-shirts for lucky random runner-ups). These puzzles are better crafted than those of the cheaper Dell or Penny Press competing publications and at $3.25 an issue this still offers good value. I enjoy the crosswords and double-crostics best.

Over my year-long subscription I accumulated a backlog of unread issues and eventually decided to cancel my 'World Of Puzzles' subscription. I'm saving the unused issues for future use. Single issues are highly recommended for airport bookstores and long airplane or train travel.

Amazon's annual rate is currently about $3.50 less than that directly offered by the publishers (each issue is loaded with subscription cards). However, be advised that subscribing through Amazon takes a LONG time to start (Amazon currently estimates 3-4 months between payment and first issue).

This magazine is on the pricey side, but it is packed full of really clever puzzles -of all kinds. There are the staples: crosswords, paint by numbers, cryptoquotes, battleships -but also all kinds of original, unique puzzles as well. You get what you pay for with this magazine. It keeps me entertained for many days (and nights). I save the old ones and go back to find a little nugget of a puzzle that I hadn't finished when I first looked at it. Great magazine -so glad it is on the market.

I have tried the basic crossword and logic puzzle magazines out there, the kind you get at the airport and so on (usually by Penny Press), and the Games Magazine publications, World of Puzzles in particular, are by far the best. The simple physical quality of them is better, the puzzles more interesting and just overall a better buy. I admit I have never finished all the puzzles in it, but it's also great because I can keep them a while and still find puzzles to do! If you do a lot of puzzles, get a subscription. If you're more limited on time and never finish as many of them as you like, you can generally find this at places like Borders and buy every other edition.

For those who love puzzles, Games and World of Games magazines are the ultimate in fun and variety. The crosswords are unique and include different varieties of wordplay. The sudoku has challenging designs, the picture logic I have not seen anywhere else, and the cryptic crosswords are amazing. There is a bit of everything for every kind of puzzle fan, but my personal favorite is Mixed Doubles which is a crossword play on homonyms. I have subscribed to this magazine for years and enjoy each fresh new edition.

Private Eye - England

Private Eye - EnglandWhat I'm wondering is who still reads Private Eye? It started about 40 years ago, part of the satire boom that engulfed England in the early 60's. The post-war austerity was behind us and the situation was ripe for a bit of a revolution. Media attitudes towards the supposedly great and good, especially towards the monarchy, were deferential not to say obsequious, a characteristic still known in America as `respect'. Something had to give, and the dam burst with sudden and total ruin. The howls of outrage that the new mood provoked were among the most beautiful sounds I have ever heard in my life. To my dying day I shall remember a picture of Her Majesty at Wimbledon accompanied by her Secretary of State for Defence, the Right Honourable Fred Mulley MP. Mr Mulley had nodded off in his chair, and Private Eye printed the picture with the caption `Cabinet Minister Sleeps With the Queen'.

One notable point was that the new satirists were not particularly leftish in their politics. Peter Cook and William Rushton are dead by now, but Christopher Booker went on to help establish the Festival of Light, a muscular-Christian orgy of family values, and David Frost, now Sir David, is a stately pillar of the broadcasting establishment. Richard Ingrams, founding editor of The Oldie Magazine, has retained something of the oldie spirit but all from a rather erratic and personal standpoint and Private Eye goes marching on. It's not what it started as. Something like its original spirit can be seen today in the film, apparently controversial in America but not in England, Fahrenheit 9/11. It has settled into a steady format these days, with some brilliant cartoons and photo-montages, particularly on the front cover. This cover is the magazine's main link with its past and is always of a topical nature, but most of the cartoons inside are of a perfectly standard kind that you might find in regular newspapers. There are excellent book and media reviews, there is a very difficult crossword of a slightly adult and naughty type, there is still a prime ministerial spoof sometimes purportedly written by spouses (Mrs Wilson, Mr Thatcher) and sometimes by the incumbent himself as with John Major or the current pm as the with-it guitar-playing vicar of St Albion's writing in his parish magazine and usually with a contribution from the Rev Dubya of the Church of Latter-day Morons. However the focus has changed from satire to whistle-blowing. It is very good whistle-blowing and very necessary I should say, anonymous in the main but written by mainstream journalists who can't publish certain stories in their regular outlets. What I wonder is who are its reading-public these days?

I suspect it's mainly a loyalty readership 60'sish people in both senses of the term like myself. It certainly used to be available in America and I suppose it still is, but I think its base is subscribers rather than casual purchasers. The focus is mainly on Britain, but not exclusively. My guess would be that a high percentage of its American readers are Rhodes scholars and anglophiles of various kinds, but there is always a very interesting and hard-hitting `Letter from...' some part of the globe, always written in the same style. I get my subscription to it as a Christmas present each year, and I shall be interested to see which of us succumbs first the donor, the magazine, or myself. Long may all of us live, and long may Private Eye outlast us. The genie is out of the bottle and I hope not all the Queen's horses nor all the President's men can put it together again, to mix my literary allusions.

My introduction to Private Eye was in the '70s, when, as an American provincial, I studied in Britain. I still find its sense of humor gently wicked. It is satirical, and we all know that satire appeals only to those people who can discern it. But the contributors to Private Eye also do good work as investigative journalists, without partisan favoritism. (Things we sorely lack in American journalism, both intelligent satire and non-partisan reporting.) As a subscriber, I read my copy of Private Eye cover to cover and then I put it in the bathroom as toilet reading. Often my copy goes missing, to what purpose I truly cannot say. But Private Eye helps me to remember, in my senile rage, that it is still "a funny old world."

My wife is from the UK and I lived there for a few years. We're both political and a little 'left of centre' (Canadian perspective).

This magazine is wonderful.. If you don't have any incite as to what is going on world wide this might not be the magazine for you. If you have a good sense of political humour, up to date politically re: UK, the world, etc. you'll love this magazine. And you'll read it from cover to cover.

We both spend hours reading each issue. Good perspective of British / World politics without getting depressing.

Bridal Guide (1-year auto-renewal)

Bridal GuideThe three real contenders are Bridal Guide, Bride's and Modern Bride. Bride's and Modern Bride seem to be the same magazine sometimes, and in fact are now owned by the same people. If you want something more suited to a "real bride", it would seem that Bridal Guide is your best choice.

If you have $10,000 to spend on your dress, then by all means go for Bride's magazine, but if you are like the rest of us, then Bridal Guide has, BY FAR, the best selection for you. The advice seemed to be geared for regular people trying to have a fabulous wedding, and for the right price too!

There's a wealth of information on planning the event, dealing with inlaws, Honeymoon destinations, buying the dress ... EVERYTHING you could want and more. I love this magazine. Thank you Bridal Guide.

Bridal Guide is a lengthy magazine designed to appeal to brides in waiting and to those women who see marriage on the horizon. This magazine is devoted to bridal fashion and to other things that are involved in making the day special and memorable. Besides the fashion, one can read about wedding planning, honeymoon ideas, photography, and other weddingrelated things.

When you read a copy of Bridal Guide, what stands out more than anything are the photos. This is the main reason people read this magazine in the first place: To look at wedding attire and compare different styles. Models wearing wedding gowns are abundant in this publication and some of the bridal gowns they adorn are quite stunning. To help future brides make a possible purchase, it is common to find a phone number and/or a web site with the majority of the photos. Bridal attire is the main focus of this magazine, but there are also some pictures of grooms and of other wedding party members, with models displaying other fashions for sale, once again complete with phone number and web page.

The part of this magazine that focuses its attention on honeymoons and travel is probably my favorite part of the issue. What I like is the fact that this is one part of the magazine that can appeal/apply to anyone, regardless of marital status. These honeymoon tips and destination information provide some good reading material for the bride to be or anyone else who happens to read the magazine.

Bridal Guide is a very lengthy publication, with each issue containing around 500 pages! This is more than double the length of most other magazines and it can make the issue seem a little overwhelming at times. Also, this magazine is saturated with ads. Since the majority of the gownclad models are, in effect, advertisements for a specific fashion brand, one can expect to find ads covering the vast majority of this magazine's pages. This could be annoying to some, but one must bear in mind that the magazine's focus is wedding planning, so excessive advertising is expected.

For young bridestobe or bridal wannabes, this is a handy magazine to have around. It's very long, but it contains lots of fashion and wedding planning ideas to make the big day one to remember forever.

Buy Bridal Guide (1-year auto-renewal) Now

For my June 2010 wedding, I subscribed to Bridal Guide to get ideas. It is a very useful magazine, with lots and lots of gorgeous pictures and ideas. However, after a few months, I noticed that things tended to be repetitive, which is only to be expected. There's only so many different ways to fold a napkin, or so many different flower petals to sprinkle on the aisle before the bride walks down. The best part of bridal magazines is the pictures of wedding dresses, at least in my book, but they tend to be the same dresses in each issue for a few months, making it less fun to flip through.

The other downside to bridal magazines, and a big part of the reason that a few of them have shut down, is that most of the info can be found in the big bridal websites, and for free. In fact, they often have far more information, since they collect it over a long period of time, giving you plenty of past information to browse through.

All in all, this magazine is a good resource, and I do recommend it, but if you're short on cash (gotta save up for that wedding!), skip it and go online.

Look, it's a magazine. Do I read magazines? Um, no.

Don't I get everything I need from the interwebs hence negating my need for magazines? Um, yes.

Have I, or do I ever plan on, getting married? Um, no again.

In conclusion, I think that the only reason I ordered this magazine is due to excessive alcohol consumption. Frankly, I can't think of any other reason that makes sense.

Want Bridal Guide (1-year auto-renewal) Discount?

I purchased this subscription for my girlfriend (now Fiancée) for the past couple of years. She loves the magazine. A little too much in fact, and now that she has a wedding to plan it comes in handy. The magazine has tons of examples and ideas for ones own wedding plus tips, advice, and even a month by month calendar to help out. Really a great buy if getting married.

As for Magazines through Amazon, I have no complaints. I even had to change the address a couple times and it was a one minute process and very easy to do.

Anyone who loves childrens literature will appreciate this periodical, not just parents and teachers. After all the best literature out there, in my humble opinion, is childrens literature!

I can't say anything becuase I haven't got any magazine and even notice from Amazon, and Horn Book Magazine. Defer from regular shipping process, magazine shipping process is all pre-historic...

Dumbo Feather

Dumbo FeatherDumbo feather, pass it on, is the perfect companion for anyone wishing to live life to its fullest. As someone who has recently started my own business I find the stories in Dumbo feather inspiration for my journey. They are open and honest accounts of people living and fulfilling life dreams, and I find myself constantly 'requoting' words from the magazine. The magazine itself is beautiful both in quality and design. And I love the links between the feature stories, sub stories and advertising it all flows so well. This magazine is really like no other on the current racks, there is no gossip or hiding of truths, it is a real magazine for real people! And the best thing, it doesn't date!! The stories have longevity. I've placed it on my shelves with other reference books, knowing I will go back to it time and time again when I need some inspiration.

Dumbo Feather is filled with inspiring people who have achieved extraordinary things. Its format is unique and it is a refreshing change in the market place. Its the kind of magazine that you can refer to over and over again as stories of real people evoke dreams, passions and ignite our creativity. I would highly recommend it!
