Military Vehicles (1-year)

Military VehiclesI have subscribed to this magazine for many years. The stories are great and the pictures are wonderful if you are looking for help in restoring a Military Vehicle or not.

Te stories are great. Being in and out of the military for decades make it fun to see vehicles that I used to work on as a mechanic from Vietnam to the wars in the early nineties. This book helped me pass the vehicle recognizing tests.

Now I enjoy thinking of what I could be doing if I had the room. I do have the room for the kits advertised.

You will find hours of fun perusing the articles on museum collections and come close to buying that rare part that only a coffee table can use. Cannot throw away the older volumes. Now with the kindle you can carry your favorite volumes with you where ever you go.

Motorcycle Consumer News (1-year auto-renewal)

Motorcycle Consumer NewsOh man this is a fantastic magazine!! Since the price of gas went up, I've been riding more and more. This magazine keeps me up on all the latest. Highly recommended. I've ridden over 100,000 miles and close to 40 years and ALWAYS learn something new from this magazine.

I get 6 moto magazines a month. I read them all but MCNews is the only one I bother keeping after I'm done reading it. It's the only one that does full tests on oils, cleaning products, jackets, intercoms, etc etc. Other magazines pretend to review gear but in most cases they read like press releases.

I have subscribed to this mag since 1997 and strongly consider it the best motorcycle magazine available. There are also some great mags available from the UK, but they are very expensive. The domestic mags (you know, the ones with all the ad's) are good for one read (at that) and then get quickly recycled. I keep every copy of this one, as they have information you may want to reference at a later time. Their road tests of new bikes are very informative and compared to other reviews (magazine or on-line) they write the hard truth and give me (the consumer) information to help decide what to buy. The other motorcycle magazines are only interested in pleasing their masters. (motorcycle and moto-gear manufacturers who advertise in their rags and expect gentle reviews of their product) No offense, but if you are young and mostly interested in the latest 600cc sportbike camparo with glossy photos, you might want to stick with the others. This is a magazine that has appeal for adults. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

It is no surprise to me that there are no reviews less than 4 stars. This is without a doubt one of the worlds most genuinely helpful magazines that all other magazine formats should be based on. Run by a crew of writers and editors that have combined for eons of experience and 10's of thousands of miles of rising this magazine reviews new models and products related to riding, offers a column by a doctor on staying healthy as a rider, numerous articles on riders rights eductaion and politics, the state of the industry, used motorcycle price guides, and many recounts of tours and trips from writers and readers alike. This is a magazine that was black and white print 2 years ago and resisted the change because the readers did not want the magazine to feel different like any other add packed nonsensical waste of paper. But even with the color change this is still the same great unbiased and information packed read.

Music Connection

Music ConnectionHad always heard about it, but the first time I read MC was when I started working for this music management firm couple years ago. The office subscribes. Compared to the other notable music magazines I've browsed, Music Connection cover stories always seem to showcase bands, artists and producers I'd actually be interested in reading about. I was fortunate enough to even have my own music reviewed in one of their issues! The folks who put this mag together seem to be real musicians and genuine music fans, making for a great publication!

Music Connection is a great magazine. Being a publicist, I've worked with them directly and can only say good things. When covering large name artists, they always make sure to ask questions that will be helpful for smaller, up and coming artists and all their articles are a good read.

I am a guitar player and have been a subscriber for 5+ years. This magazine is great for anyone wanting to learn about music or the music business

This magazine is packed with good music business information. It has frequent interviews with heavy decision makers and could be used as a good source for understanding current and future trends within the industry. This is a must have for anyone who is or wishes to enter the music industry. That being said it isn't perfect. It doesn't provide information backed by credible research. If a business provides subpar service you'll never know it until after the fact. It also doesn't do well in terms of providing tips, tricks, and how-tos, but if you want to know about available resources or read the perspective of business leaders this is a good magazine to purchase.

I got this for a teen cousin of mine that was interested in music as a career. I later canceled it (and I'm still waiting on that to go through) because it was over her head. I think it would be very good for someone that can grasp the information better. For a teen, stick to the more basic mags.

Magazine Litteraire

Magazine LitteraireThis is an excellent magazine, specially with the new clearer format.

If you read French and are interested in French Literature this pages will keep you updated and also will give you some scope about the classics, the centenaries or bicentenaries of celebrities, and also the literature of other countries from Europe and even the USA.

Excellent periodical dossiers about big subjects like Existencialism or about writers like Virginia Woolf or Jules Verne.

Concise, well written and clarifying reviews of the newest books in French or translated into it.

Boys Life

Boys LifeI was surprised at the low reveiws for this magazine and had to write to say that my three boys (ages 10 to 14) fight over who is going to read it first when an issue arrives. We've not subscribed to any other magazine that my boys are as enthusiastic about.

This magazine is a great one. My son (age 7) looks for it in the mailbox and when it arrives he reads it cover to cover. He particularly likes the section about scouts saving their leaders or scouts helping scouts. It is an interesting book. It has badges you can earn at times and hints and helps and advice for a variety of scouting type activities and events.

Enjoy.

Well worth the money.

My 8 year old son is obsessed with this magazine. He spends a good portion of his free time scouring over his new & back issues. It really keeps his attention & keeps him quiet! He always gets so excited when a new one comes. Well worth the $ if you have a boy who likes scouting.

This is my 9 yos first year of Cub Scouts (Webelos), and we were all very excited for this new opportunity. I went ahead and ordered Boys Life when I registered my son for scouts, looking forward to a monthly magazine that would reinforce the Scout values. I am very, very disappointed. The amount of advertising is disturbing. It seems that for every 1-2 pages of content there is an equal (if not more) amount of advertising. The few articles that I've read have been interesting, but not at the expense of over-exposure to pop culture and media. Shame on you, BSA, for failing to reinforce the values that your organization promotes during den and pack meetings. One look at this magazine, and the values I see promoted are consumerism and video gaming. This will be the last year that I waste $24 on this magazine.

This magazine is inundated with advertising. The few articles that do exist are saturated with trend ideals and sparcely include the moral values that the Boy Scout organization is said to imply. I am disappointed that the BS organization is willing to be associated with such junk, and supports yet another venue for exploiting funds from its particpants.
