Oh man this is a fantastic magazine!! Since the price of gas went up, I've been riding more and more. This magazine keeps me up on all the latest. Highly recommended. I've ridden over 100,000 miles and close to 40 years and ALWAYS learn something new from this magazine.

I get 6 moto magazines a month. I read them all but MCNews is the only one I bother keeping after I'm done reading it. It's the only one that does full tests on oils, cleaning products, jackets, intercoms, etc etc. Other magazines pretend to review gear but in most cases they read like press releases.

I have subscribed to this mag since 1997 and strongly consider it the best motorcycle magazine available. There are also some great mags available from the UK, but they are very expensive. The domestic mags (you know, the ones with all the ad's) are good for one read (at that) and then get quickly recycled. I keep every copy of this one, as they have information you may want to reference at a later time. Their road tests of new bikes are very informative and compared to other reviews (magazine or on-line) they write the hard truth and give me (the consumer) information to help decide what to buy. The other motorcycle magazines are only interested in pleasing their masters. (motorcycle and moto-gear manufacturers who advertise in their rags and expect gentle reviews of their product) No offense, but if you are young and mostly interested in the latest 600cc sportbike camparo with glossy photos, you might want to stick with the others. This is a magazine that has appeal for adults. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

It is no surprise to me that there are no reviews less than 4 stars. This is without a doubt one of the worlds most genuinely helpful magazines that all other magazine formats should be based on. Run by a crew of writers and editors that have combined for eons of experience and 10's of thousands of miles of rising this magazine reviews new models and products related to riding, offers a column by a doctor on staying healthy as a rider, numerous articles on riders rights eductaion and politics, the state of the industry, used motorcycle price guides, and many recounts of tours and trips from writers and readers alike. This is a magazine that was black and white print 2 years ago and resisted the change because the readers did not want the magazine to feel different like any other add packed nonsensical waste of paper. But even with the color change this is still the same great unbiased and information packed read.

Ride Cycling Review

Well written and not yet littered with advertisement. Interesting and relavent information about the "up and coming" and established pro-cyclist. It is an Australian publication and it talks about all international riders but with slightly more focus on the Aussies. However, I like the neutrality when they feature Contador vs. some of the U.S. pro Lance slant.

Wild Fibers

What a beautiful magazine about both plant and animal fibers. The stories and amazing photography in each issue makes each one unique and certainly a treasured source for information. I do look forward to the knitting pattern in each issue and enjoy looking for the different fibers that the designer has used.

"Wild Fibers" is a quarterly but it is well packed and will take the whole quarter to go through and apply.

There are unique patterns, and stories. This is as much about animal husbandry as it is about spinning. I actually apply much of the information to weaving. There are lots of great ads that show you what you are missing; it is sort of like a Christmas catalog. This magazine should be more considered as a professional trade magazine vs. a fluff grocery store magazine.

This zine is a must for the fiber crafter. I certainly never heard of New Zealand possum yarn before. Wonderful pictures, worthly of National Geographic. The ads are an education.

Magazine is fine but it didn't come for 6 months after ordering. Amazon blamed 3rd parties and wouldn't help. We will never order mags through Amazon.

Nothing against the magazine itself, but getting your hands on the first issue is a whole different story! First off it is late (in fact I still don't have my first issue) But that is not the worst part. The worst part is the post-purchase service you get from Amazon. First, people who answered the phone number provided in confirmation e-mail from Amazon, did not find/know anything about the confirmation number Amazon had e-mailed me. Well, guess what, that's all I have folks! unless you want me to make one up, I don't have any other confirmation numbers!

Insisting a bit more, frusterated the lady answering the phone and she told me that she did not work for Amazon and what do I want from her?!!

So, imagine this, the publication you paid for, never arrived, the confirmation number Amazon sent you does not exist and the phone number provided by Amazon says they don't work for Amazon?! That is what I call service!!

Ever since my summer trip to Italy, I have been gathering some Italian home magazines because I noticed that they feature more realistic homes than American magazines which often feature stately homes. I use Casa Viva to get design ideas and tips on high quality home items that I can sometimes buy online. And since I understand Italian, I can say that the articles are well-written too.

BBC Top Gear - England

This is the ultimate magazine to have if you're a fan of BBC Top Gear on BBC2 Sundays.

Since the magazine deals almost exculsively with UK market vehicles, it's not of use to a subscriber outside of that area except for entertainment...and if you know the show...you know what to expect.

However the subscription price is rubbish. You can purchase a copy (albiet about 2 weeks late) each month from your local book store that covers world periodicals for the cover price of $9.25, nearly $5 less than a subscription per issue.

Yes it is expensive, but it must be known that 1 page of Top Gear is more interesting than a whole issue of Car and Driver. Subscribing means paying more ($10.95 listed at bookstands) and getting each issue 2-3 weeks later. I used to subscribe, but I get them at Borders now.

For those who love cars and would like to see how the other half lives, this is a great magazine. Highly focused on it's native British market, it makes for interesting and often amusing reading. If we had half the cars currently available in Europe/Great Britain, the big 3 would be gone.

However, a subscription price of nearly $15 per issue is flatly absurd. You can reliably pick this up each month at large book stores. It simply isn't worth that price.

If you're interested in cars and can handle sarcasm and well founded criticism, give this magazine a try. Well illustrated and beautifully printed this really is the ultimate European car magazine. Main focus is on cars available on the UK market. Not to worry, the ones not available there aren't worth driving anyway.

Great photography, informative articles in the Top Gear Style, a coffee table quality publication that is done quite well. "Top Gear Subcriber's Edition" covers all classes of automobiles from Alfa Romeo to Volvo. It is definitely a British publication right down to car prices being listed in Pounds. It does not cater to the US manufacturers even to the point of a well justified bias towards EU automobiles. So, if this might bother you then get in your pick-up, drive to the store, and by any other car magazine. Careful not to hit your head on your bumper going out to your truck. I highly recommend Top Gear Magazine for those that want who want accurate detailed information from a drivers prospective.

Motocross Action Magazine

I purchased this magazine subscription for my nephew for Christmas (he is 15 yrs. old). He is very hard to buy for within a limited budget (we budget $15-$20 per kid for gifts). He is into motorbikes, snowboarding, etc. and he just absolutely loves the subscription! Every month he gets a "gift" in the mail.

I have subscribed to MXA for about 5 years now, and it is the best motocross magazine available. Well written, excellent technical tips and info, best equipment reviews, and great articles. The editors are all MX racers, and the writing about vintage equipment and racing is great, important to an old guy like me who remembers those days. (I'm 43 and have been riding since I was 8) I keep my entire library of back issues at my trailer in the desert where I ride my bikes, and I find myself constantly referring to them for tech info, or just for good reading.

I ordered this product and accidentally had the item sent to me (the billing address) instead of the gift recipient. I IMMEDIATELY made the correction online, and contacted the distributer. The distributer provided emails saying they corrected this error. In February I received the magazine instead of the gift recipient. I sent a SECOND email reminding them of the error and their guarentee to correct the problem. Again, they said they would correct it. It is now March and I am, again, receiving the magazine subscription instead of the intended recpipent, I am incredibly frustrated with their service as it is inconsistant with what they say. I recommend ordering this magazine through a different distributer. Perhaps through Barnes and Noble.

Auto Motor Und Sport

Assuming you can read German, then "auto motor und sport" is simply an amazing publication there is nothing else like it. Come to think of it, Japanese car magazines are perhaps better but few outside Japan can read them.

This magazine presents and tests cars that few in the US will ever see thanks to our arrogant Federal regulations. The test standards in this magazine make US publications look childish; e.g. a vehicle's 0-60mph time is not the end-all, be-all performance test... no wonder American cars are the way they are...

In other words, this is not for NASCAR fans, but for those who appreciate tests of vehicles done from the perspective of the world's most demanding drivers Germans this is the perfect magazine.
