E - The Environmental Magazine (1-year auto-renewal)

E - The Environmental MagazineE is a publication I recognize for its solid reporting on key issues. But most importantly, it is the independence of the solid, in-depth special reports that is most valuable to me and my fellow environmentalists.

Not found in E are the typical political grunts and trite statements. I do not feel I am reading a political manefesto, or degrading my life by reading E. Just as important, when passing it on to others, I do not feel that I am an extension of some action group, but know that what I pass on is solid, quality reporting that take into account all sides of an issue. In addition to the solid reporting on an issue, E has expanded so every issue contains information on personal health, Green travel with a nice section on Green Investing that I found is truly effective for me.

Overall I give E four stars for content and ADD a star for remianing indpendent of "in-your-face" commentary. A true Time magazine quality for the environmentally concerned.

I've been a subscriber of E Magazine (which stands for The Environmental Magazine) for over a year now and I love it. It is, by far, the best environmentally oriented magazine I've come across. All of the ads are for environmentally-friendly companies and products, I now purchase products at at least 50% of the places advertised in this magazine. E Magazine covers topics all over the world, including global warming, horse meat (popular in Europe), whaling, deforestation, etc. If you are concerned or interested in environmental issues, I would highly recommend a subscription to this magazine. The issues are bi-monthly but are absolutely action-packed and fact-filled. Subscribe today!

Buy E - The Environmental Magazine (1-year auto-renewal) Now

E MAGAZINE is chocked full of everything the intelligent resident of Earth needs to know, from "rainforests to recycling" and the "personal to the political." Published bimonthly by the Earth Action Network, each edition contains thorough reports on key environmental issues and trend, consumer product updates, food and environmental health issues, commentary from leading thinkers and doers, and coverage of major events and conferences.

What's most reassuring about E is that it's not a doom-and-gloom publication. The focus is awareness--updates on biotech, wildlife, climate change and toxic threats--and practical advice. Be it information on herbal alternatives, fruits that ease the aging process or the top 10 rules of eco-travel, E educates readers--and hopefully--policymakers alike.

I've been looking for a good Environmental Magazine to get since I am an Environmental Science major in college and would like to have a lot of environmental news in one place to read without reading it on the computer. This does the job aptly and is very informative in different aspects of the environment. From wildlife, to home improvements, to environmental history, to health, to environmental policies in other countries. Even the ads are 100% environmentally related! Definitely worth receiving.

I gave this magazine as a gift, and also received a subscription as a gift. I can't tell...is it the packaging? The ho-hum articles? I don't know. I had such high hopes for a great-quality magazine that would increase my environmental awareness and encourage me in my small attempt to live green. Alas, I've been disappointed and I won't renew.

4wd Toyota Owner

4wd Toyota OwnerI don't subscribe to many magazines, but when this mag came out I just had to have a subscription. I subscribed online and received my first copy about a week later. It's one of the best things I've ever done!

This magazine is great packed full of USEFUL articles. There are a tons of articles on repairs and upgrades, new equipment coming out, driving tips, 4WD events, how-to articles, and more. The photos are great, not too many ads, and I've learned so much from each issue. I give this magazine a "10" I highly recommend this mag for anyone who has a 4WD Toytoa!

I've subscribed to this magazine since the very first issue. The articles and tech write ups are top notch minus a few typos. Compared to some other Toyota specific magazines like "toyota trails",4wd Toyota Owner gives much more room for "how to" and

"build up" articles and not so much space is wasted on reporting a trip that a few guys took to D'lo Mississippi in search of the rare jara jara edition fj40 like some magazines. So if you ever wanted to know what other engine would fit into your 85 pickup or how to increase the horsepower on your mall cruiser i would highly recommend this magazine.

Simply awesome! 4wd Toyota Owner continues to deliver nothing but the best in Toyota Off-Road every issue. The pictures are packed with action and the articles are informative and current. If you own any Toyota 4wd vehicle you have to check these guys out!

I purchased this for my husband who loves his Toyota truck. He loved it and read the magazine cover to cover. He hardly ever reads anything cover to cover! I used it as a Christmas list because he found things in it that he wanted to add to his truck but didn't want to spend the money on. Here is the reason I only gave it 3 stars... We didn't receive all of our issues. I contacted Amazon and they were very helpful. After contacting them, we received one of the missing magazines. We only received 4 magazines total. I have ordered it again because the hubby loved it so much. I will have to make sure I contact Amazon or the magazine as soon as we notice we didn't get one of them.

Here is the break down...

1. The magazine itself is great and lots of information.

2. The magazine has great ideas for purchases and upgrades to your truck

3. Not getting all of your magazines kinds of sucks.

Finally a magazine for yota drivers without having to go through all the "JEEP" stuff first!!!!Good info and articles for such a new mag !! Look forward to it every other month.

T3 : Tomorrows Technology Today

T3 : Tomorrows Technology TodayIf you are into all things digital, electronic, or simply wonder what magazine can help you gear up like James Bond, look no further my friend. T3 is a tad spendy on the subscription price because it is an import from the UK. This also affects readers in the US and Canadian markets because some of the products discussed aren't available in North America. However, by the same token, it allows the tech savvy to see what's shaping up overseas, and in many cases, what's on it's way to the States or Canada. Yet, due to inability to customize for the West (a large percent of it's profitable market) I give it a 4 instead of a 5. A sugguestion to those interested in this mag as a gift for someone else: try looking for Sony Style Magazine. It is along the very same lines but it's Sony product specefic (Sony is the very heart of modern consumer technologies). Sony Style can save those considering a mag subscription for a tech lover some serious bucks by skipping the import fees since it is pressed domestically in the US.

T3 is a great technology magazine but it's a little heavy on the cell phone market. If you live outside of Europe some of the cell phones reviewed will never make it to your local phone carrier. I wish T3 devoted more time to actual review of products. Anyway it's still a great magazine.

On a more serious note I placed an order through Amazon for a T3 subscription roughly a year ago and it was cancelled due to the company fulfilling the magazine order did not honer one of the prices here on Amazons webpage. The woman at the fulfillment company told me that T3 had stopped being published (blatant lie).

I'm certain it was due to the current exchange rate between pounds and dollars but to be informed that the magazine was out of business was unacceptable.

Buy T3 : Tomorrows Technology Today Now

"Wired" is another brand of this type of magazine but does not have a semi-naked woman on the cover every issue (hahaha). Basically inside T3 magazine you hope to find either one of three things.

#1 Something so horribly expensive that you will never own it.

#2 Something expensive that you should own.

#3 Something that is not so expensive that you should buy that month.

For instance 2005 is all about 'wireless' so 'Wired' magazine gets the sales, but when then the word 'Broadband' and 'T1' to 'T3' are used, we think this... and it is all about that.

T3 is good. Get one issue and see if that is what you need. If you like to see nice takes on cool stuff, T3 does it in aces. It is not deep reading.

It is a cutting edge magazine. Let's you know the top tech devices and informs you about what is modern in technology these days. Anyway it is all about the product and I am sure T3 is more about giving you ideas that month than chasing down the top stuff through trial and error. Just try it.

Military Heritage

Military HeritageOne the best military history magazines on the market. Always well written with articles from diverse and well balanced historical periods. Highly recommended.

I like this magazine a lot. I also get Military history and World War 2 magazine and this is my favorite of the three. The best thing about military history magazines in general is getting a new issue in and learning about something you had no idea happened. An example would be England ruling Argentina and the Philippines, did you know that had happened? I sure didn't. Also you will read, like in this issue I have here, about a battle contingency England had to invade the Washington territory in 1861 at the start of the Civil War; it's stuff like this that keeps me very interested in reading this magazine more so than the World War 2 stuff that I've probably over read (although it's in here also). Great glossy paper and pictures also makes it stand out from my other subscriptions, highly recommended.

Buy Military Heritage Now

Military Heritage appears to me to be a more scholarly magazine than Military History of which I also am a subscriber. This magazine will appeal to the Historian as well a the lay reader. I find the book reviews most incisive and helpful.

There are precious few magazines out there for the military historian with the appeal that this one has. The illustrations are stunning and complement the well-written and informative text month after month. One of my favorite magazines and a must-have for the military historian.

History buffs will appreciate the detailed depictions of battle this magazine showcases. The stories are rich in historical facts and illustrations. The only improvement could be the mapping accompanying each story, as it tends to lack the same quality as the writing.

Travel 50 & Beyond

Travel 50 & BeyondI received this magazine as a gift... and I will not renew. Articles are very short and refer you to websites, telephone numbers, etc. for more information. Why so little information in the magazine itself?

Additionally, there is a load of advertising: take that out of the equation and the magazine would only be a few pages long.

For my money, there is much more available elsewhere, including a "google" search. Waste of paper, IMHO.

"Travel 50 & Beyond" was on almost every page an ad for "Vacations To Go" There were very few articles on travel destinations and most of those were in a section called "sponsored section" sponsored by who? well Vacations To Go of course. Sometimes the articles were even written by the editor and editorial asst. of the publication. Any articles that were printed were always glowing reports, nothing unbiased. So I googled the publisher -vacationpublicationsand here's another big surprise vacationspublications came up with this:

"Vacations To Go is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vacation Publications, Inc., which publishes magazines, books and special reports for the travel and mature ..."

I feel like I really got taken. This was like one big pamphlet for thier travel company. I probably could have gotten all of it for free from their agency. Not only that but aside from pictures of some really happy looking older folks, I didn't particularly feel that this "magazine" I hate to even call it that was geared toward people age 50 plus.

There were many cruises(all of course should be booked through vacations to go), and some foreign travel that would probably blow a couple months of our fixed income. I would have liked to see some road trips or even train tours through the good ole U.S.A. There were some suggestions for a couple of vacations in some states, with maybe a map of the entire state, but not much actually showing any kind of route to take. There was an article a few months ago for a trip through route 66, but once again this was written by an editorial asst of Travel 50.

I ordered this through a subscription from a school fundraiser have recieved about 3 alreadyand the only thing good I have to say is that the publication arrives on schedule. Well, why wouldn't it?....Vacations To Go will benefit highly from any reservations made through this, their own magazine...and subscribers are just paying for all the adsabout 100 pages worth. Fahgetaboutit.

thanks....Laurie

I could not distinguish the articles from the ads. Nothing in this magazine is worth reading. It is one big brochure for the tour and cruise company, Vacations To Go. I bought this for my granddaughter's magazine drive; so I probably can't get my money back; it is really a terrible excuse for a magazine!

I have never received a copy of this magazine that I ordered in August of last year! They didn't hesitate to take my money though! I have no idea if the magazine has any redeemable articles in it at all.

I am an older single woman. I love to travel by myself or with friends. Recently, I subscribed to Travel 50 & Beyond.

I counted photographs of thirty couples in a recent issue and NONE of single travellers enjoying themselves. According to the American Association of Single People, almost 50% of the adult population of the US is unpartnered. The travel industry and its publications need to catch up with the demographics! I will not continue to subscribe to this or any other magazine that does not give equal representation to the travel interests of the single population. Wake up to reality!

Electronic House

Electronic HouseI am a gadget freak and a big fan of consumer electronics of any kind. I also appreciate good high-quality audiovisual entertainment, and watching movies at home is definitely high on my list of entertainment options. With these things in mind "Electronic House" is almost an ideal magazine for me. It consistently features some of the best and most advanced home electronics products, as well as in-depth reports on some very advanced comprehensive home-entertainment setups. Many of the electronic products are very cutting edge, and not likely to be featured even in the most trendy of the technology blogs. That's the good news. The bad news is that those products tend to be way outside most mortals' budget, and are not very likely to end up in your or any of your friends' homes in the foreseeable future. Nonetheless, due to the rapidly evolving technologies and ever-decreasing prices of electronic products one can be reasonably sure that most of the gadgets that are featured in this magazine will eventually find their way to mass markets in some way shape or form.

The product reviews in this magazine are very nicely done, although they tend to be on the flattering side. If you were considering purchasing any of the featured products I would recommend checking out some other online or offline reviews. Amazon reviews in particular (if available) will give you some idea of what the actual experiences of real-life users may be, although even those should be taken with a grain of salt.

One of the nicest features in this magazine are the in-depth articles on various luxury homes that are saturated with the latest audio, video, and home automation features. These homes can be quite impressive, and looking at them could elicit some serious envy. Fortunately, the magazine also features articles on electronically sophisticated homes that are within the reach of most middle class households. At the very least, "Electronic House" will provide you with the idea of what the latest home entertainment trends are. The way I see it, even the most expensive large TV or LCD projector is much less expensive than even the cheapest new car, not to mention those luxury sports cars that are regularly featured in any automotive magazine. If you are going to aspire for a fancy new toy, home electronics is a much more accessible goal.

Robb Report (1-year auto-renewal)

Robb ReportI lucked up discovering the Robb Report about three years ago. A great read on an airlinesI have had other passenger 'remove' it while I was out of my seat. Each issue since then has been a jewel and a treasure. The writers, photographers and editors create onoverwhelming sensory-overload for aspiring blue-bloods like myself. The vehicles, not limited to cars, vacation sites, and informative articles will keep you coming back month after month. Not to mention the Year-End Christmas Guidea mammoth issue with gift and gadgets that will bring you to your knees. This issue alone is WORTH the subscription price. Dont miss out on another issuegrab one at the newstand or subscribe and you too will be hooked for life, hopingpraying for money to afford some of those great toys!

There are a lot of magazines out there proclaiming themselves about the good life well, at least the material and fun toys that can go with the good life but only the Robb Report is the real thing. A lot of the luxe lifestyle mags seem to be started by people hoping they'll get to drive Ferraris for free or so they get to hire models in bikinis to sit on a $150k pool table.

The Robb Report seems to be written by people with a geniune understanding, knowledge and interest in their subjects of coverage whether it's Ferrari's, Italian luxury yachts, the best rideshare jet or an interesting $4M vacation home they know the history and understanding the lightweights from the authentic. They actually know their stuff and don't just write regurgitated press releases.

With a lot of fakes and poseurs out there, The Robb Report is the real thing. Solid writing, excellent photographs and even the ads are fun to look at. Whether you live this life or aspire to it, the Robb Report is the real beluga ...

The affluent lifestyle is well represented in this publication, the proverbial "American Dream". From the reviews of the finest automobiles to the showcasing of the most exquisite pieces of jewelry the world has to offer, Robb Report has everything for the most discriminating shopper.

If you can truly appreciate the finer things in life that money CAN buy, Robb Report is THE magazine for you, bar none.

The Robb Report should probably call itself 'The

Magazine for People with Way Too Much Money'. It

is a critical examination of the goods, services

and experiences available to those for whom

money is no object. There is no advice on getting

the most out of a tight budget, just advice on

getting the most.

So, if you don't happen to be in that bracket, what's

the point? Why read about what you can't attain?

If you can keep envy in check, there are three

reasons to read the Robb Report regularly.

1. it makes for very good fantasizing. Think of it

as a harmless form of consumer-porn.

2. the rich really do live well and there are ideas

you can adapt from them to your own more modest

circumstances.

3. some of the writing is superb. Read Jack Smith on

hiking through the Alps (Jan2007)for instance.

If you can't afford the experiences descibed in the

Robb Report, you can at least have the comfort of

their acquaintance. Of course, you could, alternatively

save the cover price, read it in the library and invest

the money you saved in a no-load mutual fund. Allowing

for growth and compounding and all, you'll probably be

able to afford that yacht about nine thousand years

from now.

Want Robb Report (1-year auto-renewal) Discount?

Bah---they're just shopping at the wrong stores.

More to the point, they probably never leafed through a copy of the Robb Report.

Back in my lowly days as a cold-calling, dialing-for-dollars stockbroker, the ratty looking guy occupying the desk to my right would always sneer when I would pick up the Robb Report on my mid-afternoon walk---"you're a dreamer, Garrett", he would rasp, cackling as I idled, morning coffee-a-steaming, over the glossy, gorgeous, impossibly perfect sleekness of a Bugatti million dollar supercar, or a Lamborghini Murcielago, or a cask of rare Amontillado, or some crafty, indolent, impossibly sexy and lethal day-spa tucked away in the mountain fastness of Colorado.

Yeah, I was a dreamer. Still am.

And? So? What's wrong with that? Self-help gurus jet around this green and pleasant land of hours and make gazillions touting visualization---seeing your goals so as to better attain them---so what's wrong with drooling over a glossy spread of the latest Rolls Royce Phantom and saying "yeah, granted, I'm slaving for 100 hours a week, but next February I'm gonna be riding around in that roadster, with a built-in-humidor"?

See my point?

The Robb Report, then, is my conduit to dreams: to those things within my immediate grasp, and to those creature comforts promised at the far end of an arduous campaign. Things I new of before, perhaps: things the dear old RR introduced unto me---like the whiskey maker Balvenie, and its sharp-as-Toledo-steel 10-year single malt whiskey, with its rich peaty flavor and whiff of Irish Sea insanity.

Dreams, indeed.

Let's burrow down the marrow, dear friends: let's get down into the viscera, the bone, the sinew of the matter. Capitalism is about, frankly, each being rewarded unto his own raw ambition, his crazy energy, his feisty talent. The Robb Report, then, serves as a kind of psychological lodestone: do this, Gentle Knight, and the world---of fine Sevruga caviar, of Crystal, of Rolex, of Bugatti and Maserati and Lamborghini and Rolls Royce and townhouses the size of small nation-states and, more to the point, full financial independence with Savile-Row tailoring and hella-great cigars---shall be yours.

Dare I say that Robb Report is gorgeously shot, lustrously framed, and succinctly written? A sort of porno for uber-capitalists?

I shall. Drink up, me hearties! Yaaaaaar!
