A friend introduced me to this fun magazine. Without being ponderous, it has more useful and accessible information than I've seen in one food or wine journal in a long time. I've learned practical things like not to buy the econony sized vermouth, 'cause it won't keep well once opened, or the best sparkling ciders, what wine to bring as a dinner party gift, and why Guinness tastes better in Ireland. It has great virtual trips like to Thailand, Oaxaco, and Jamaica woven around the theme of the liquid pleasures produced in each country everything from tea to rum, or chocolate. I find it humanizes the products from all over the world that I take for granted while giving me imaginative ways to serve them. When CNN starts to drown me with bad news, this snappy mag is as refreshing as Thai iced tea or a tall Vermouth cassis.

If you buy Imbibe because you think it will be filled with receipes of all the latest shots and drinks, you will be disappointed. This is a serious magazine about beverages. If you are interested in how bourbon is made than you will like the magazine. I found a recent article about the bourbon trail to be very informative as I had recently went there on a vacation.

Imbibe seems to focus on alchol but there are also articles about coffee and tea (I skip these parts). Once again the magazine aims to inform you of how things are made or how to enjoy them. There are some drink recipes but this is a small part of the magazine.

Quality: The pages are thick and the ink does not bleed onto your hand. The magazine is well done and very classy you would not be embarassed to leave out on a table for guests to look thru. Content is informative and the articles are failry short (afterall you are dealing with beverages not rocket science).

All in all Imbibe is a magazine like no other thus it has no real competition. The magazine is well done and I look forward to receiving my copy every other month.

Best yet, it's not a bunch of New Yorkers explaining why you should live in Manhattan. It's a bunch of Portlanders inviting you to the best drinks in the world. Jaguar World Monthly

This is a great periodical published in the UK about all things Jaguar. The magazine covers the latest Jaguar offerings (e.g. F-Type as of May 2014) but also devotes a good portion of its effort towards educating the reader on Jaguar's rich heritage (e.g. the XK120 days). Some of the reviews cover models that are not available in the US, such as the XF 2.2D and XF Sportbrake, but we Americans can keep dreaming that one day, those models might make it across the pond.

Very easy ordering process and no need to invoke exchange rate fees on my CC. The only down side is that you can't participate in the prize draws in the magazine, when living in the US.

It turns out that the slightest difference between the way I wrote my address when renewing and the way it was registered with the magazine subscription department caused my renewal to be registered as a new subscription. Classic Bike

I've only read one issue but was fairly impressed with the content and quality of bike selection, writing and photos, particularly compared with the disposable quick read motomags (Cycle World, Motorcyclist, Sport Rider, etc.). Something about the Brit mags, they work on grabbing the reader to help you live the experience of the writer. After reading just that one issue I now would love to see a CBX in the garage...

Magazine is eye candy for the British Motorbike Enthusiast. We keep every issue in our motorbike shop. Love the in depth look into the bikes and great photography. Hope to continue our import subscription.

A high quality magazine that's more than just a review and nostalgia forum. Filled with practical advice for expensive and non-expensive classics from all eras, this magazine has branched out in an appealing way to Japanese, Italian (not to mention relatively obscure bikes from around the world) and modern "classic" racing. This is everything from track to hill climbs to yearly coverage of Goodwood Revival, MotoGiro, Bonneville and the Isle of Man/Manx GP. It also has recently started to include news and views from abroad meaning outside the UK. Along with mechanic and owner how-to's, plus a good dose of museum round-ups, book reviews and auction prices, this magazine is a must have for the classic enthusiast.

I have to say, I LOVE Palm Springs, I have no idea why, when I first got off the plane I fell in love, that was YEARS ago...I visit as often as I can, but when I can't, Palm Springs Life gives me a little of that perfect place in the comfort of my home in Oregon, the current events, the little update, the calendar of events that keeps me updated on what's going on, I love it. It's a great way to enjoy what I'm always not able to. More times that not this mag has also provided many ideas of places to visit when I go back, which has been fun. AND, as I HUGE bonus, the price on Amazon is the best price around.

This magazine is all about the ads. There is virtually no journalistic aspect to the magazine. And if there is, it's tainted. For example, the auto reviewer reviews the latest Mercedes-Benz and lo and behold, there's a big ole Mercedes ad on the page. You bet you're getting an impartial review!

The ads are pretty, though.

The second half of the magazine stays pretty much the same issue after issue. There are listings of golf courses, restaurants and things to do. It's a great magazine to buy once before your trip to Palm Springs. It's really not worth a 12-month subscription.

And the last page of each issue is wasted every month by some horoscope that is just terrible. What a waste of ink!

Prospect - England

'Prospect' is a relatively new British public affairs magazine. In its 'About Us' page it speaks about being 'more readable than the Economist, more romantic than the 'Spectator' etc. Its aim is to be the foremost intellectual current affairs journal in Britain.

I recommend the magazine for long, outstanding articles a recent example of is Richard Reeves on John Stuart Mill. He shows in this article the complexity of Mill's positions, his integrity, his determination to make 'ideas' serve a practical human purpose.

In the course of it he cites Mill's famous principle,"The only purpose for which power can rightfully be exercised over any member of a civilised community, against his will, is to prevent harm to others."

I suspect no harm will be done to any reader, by from time to time reading some of the finer pieces in this journal.

Radio Control Jet International

I subscribed to this magazine for a few years when I was more active in R/C flying. It is packed with information and just a great magazine to read. The information and articles are also very useful and relevant for those of us not actively flying R/C Jets. Of all the R/C magazines, this one is my favorite...

I subscribed to this magazine because it is interesting and I would like to learn more about jet R/C aircraft. However, they always have the same aircraft in their articles. All you see is fighters and this type aircraft. I have never seen one article about commerical airliners or military transports in their magazine. I am surprised there is not ONE US manufacturer of airliners. On You Tube and other web sights people say they want to know where to purchase these airliners. Hong Kong, Australian, and other overseas companies are making these and must be doing a great business and these airliners are not cheap. They run about $ 2500 each. I wrote the publisher and he said there was a lot of interest in this subject and maybe in the future they would write about it. To date nada!!!! Think I will try it one more year but if nothing appears the magazine will be toast.
