Jaguar World Monthly
It turns out that the slightest difference between the way I wrote my address when renewing and the way it was registered with the magazine subscription department caused my renewal to be registered as a new subscription. I contacted the magazine and they rectified it by crediting my account by one copy. Great response and service

Budapest Business Journal
Not as in-depth as publications like the "Wall Street Journal," it does, however, highlight news necessary to serious Eastern European investors. Major articles on the current tax situation, work force issues, hedge funds and market trends all indicate that BBJ is working hard. The pieces indicate research and investigation, with a committed effort to examine all sides of the questions.
BBJ follows the personalities, movers and shakers, and trends that impact Hungary, with increasing news about the European Union. Commentaries and editorials are pro-Hungary, recognizing the great difficulty the region has, but the potential Hungary has as a leading financial center. As optimistic as the editorial staff is about the continued economic redemption of Hungary, articles lean honestly about the struggles and hurdles ahead.
Features include reviews of restaurants and entertainment, and presumes many readers are not regular visitors to Budapest.
Advertising is geared toward expats with higher incomes, with nicer restaurants, corporate services, and luxury travel filling the ad space.
While a meatier newspaper would be helpful, this is a good start. As the economy expands, so should this newspaper.

Cycle World (1-year auto-renewal)
For this much hassle, I have to drop the rating down to 2/5 stars but only because of the publishing company. I hate to do this because I feel the magazine is very good.
The magazine content itself is quite educational and well-written. I do not own a motorcycle but I enjoy reading about them, as well as racing tips and other tool tips that I could apply to auto racing/cars. Many of the car magazines are more interested in selling aftermarket parts or reviewing expensive foreign cars that no one could afford even after 3 lifetimes. I discovered Cycle World to focus more on the relationship between driver and machine, even if the machine has only 2 wheels! I read many negative reviews about how Cycle World was only focusing on Japanese "crotch rockets" but I must disagree. I have found it to contain balanced content covering everything from touring bikes, scooters, beginner motorcycles, and up to the Super Sport bikes. If you're into motorcycles, Cycle World is your magazine.
I give the magazine itself 4/5 stars, but the publisher (whom provides the subscription) was a severe disappointment.I've been reading Cycle World since 1977 and it's by far the best all-round motorcycle mag you can get. It covers every aspect of motorcycling, including sport bikes, dirt bikes, standards, cruisers, racing articles, top-notch technical articles by experts like Kevin Cameron, wonderful features and articles by Peter Egan (America's most beloved moto-journalist), op-ed pages, etc. It covers British, Italian, American, Japanese and German bikes alike, with detailed performance and technical data. Even the advertising is good. It's a fun read, from front to back. Cycle World is a high quality magazine, just like its sister publication for car lovers, Road & Track.

I've been a suscriber of this magazine for about 15 years and find it the most well rounded writings of the motorcycle offerings in the US.If you are looking for a broad interest in motorcycle coverage this is it. For the price to content ratio this magazine remains a constant in my readings. I currently read about 4 brands a month and Cycle World is the first one I pick up.
Good Reading!!

Motorcycle enthusiasts are a unique breed and the main quality that sets them apart from the rest of civilization is their unyielding enthusiasm for their chosen sport/hobby. They often become consumed with biking and, like golf fanatics and others, they view every spare moment as an excuse to partake in their chosen activity.Cycle World is a magazine designed with the motorcycle enthusiast in mind. This publication is made for the type of biker who not only likes to ride his cycle, but also liked to learn as much about motorcycles as possible. There are, of course, plenty of articles in each issue of Cycle World that talk about the joys of riding and the sport of motorcycle racing. But Cycle World includes other articles, tooarticles that only the wellrounded motorcycle fan will be likely to read and appreciate. Some articles focus on new technology. Others dispense advice on motorcycle repair. There are also travel articles and personality profiles as well, making for a nicely rounded publication.
I'm not a motorcycle enthusiast or even a casual fan, but I still like certain sections of Cycle World and I try to read a few of them every month. My favorite sections of Cycle World are those that feature new products. Cycle World is among the first publications to report on new motorcycles and other related products and the magazine includes plenty of great photos, test data, and various statistics. In a matter of minutes, one can quickly learn the pros and cons of a specific motorcycle and more easily make a buying decision. Even though I am not a fan, I still like these articles because, like articles on new cars, they often include some very cool new product offerings that can easily impress anyoneeven a nonfan like me.
Motorcycles are loved by their many enthusiastic fans and Cycle World is a magazine intended for those who want a wellrounded publication about motorcycles, their upkeep, and their use for entertainment. Most of the pages in each issue are dedicated to the different motorcycles produced by different manufacturers, but there is plenty other information to be found in this magazine about motorcycles and Cycle World makes a good choice for those who want to know how to ride, repair, and enjoy their hobby as much as possible. The service provided by Amazon is amazing. The magazine itself is a wonderful read to have. Along with all the coupons & new information imputed into the magazine itself. Wonderful!!!

Humor Times
His paper and online resources contain thought provoking and insightful cartoons that skewer modern life and the figures who seem to exemplify the best and worst of our species.
If you don't like political cartoons of a left-of-center bent then this publication is definitely not for you! Don't subscribe unless you want to enter a purgatory of conflicting desires wherein you might have to laugh at yourself once in a while.
BUY THIS PAPER! It supports the people who think like you do and have the luck to be able to express themselves artistically in their attempts to make this a better planet to live on.
Patrick McGilvray
Publisher I just enjoyed reading the latest issue of the Humor Times. Every month the HT pulls together the best political cartoons of the month. This issue's cartoons even made me laugh about the tragedy unfolding in the Gulf of Mexico. The HT is a breath of fresh air, a blast of comic relief. It's the Daily Show in print. Like its motto says...don't cry about the news, laugh about it with the Humor Times!Humor Times is the best way to get the news. You can keep up to date on current issues without needing an antidepressant. I only wish they had a daily newspaper. The "Humor Times is a well produced "progressive" cartoon newspaper that is both funny and smart. Full of political satire and cutting edge news. Not only cartoons from a bevy of artists but also news and opinion pieces from various commentators.I love political cartoons and this is a brilliant collection of current event cartoons. It's also supplemented with commentary and great stuff, like "Bizarro" and "Cornered". I look forward to each issue and find myself clipping out my favorite cartons constantly.

Discover (2-year)
Discover is by the same people running Discovery Channel. Their information is good, they do the research, and they often broach difficult and contrary science concepts which may not be mainstream yet. Their writers and editors do an excellent job. My own personal favorite article each month is Vital Signs, from doctors about medical cases that may be strange or that need to be brought to the attention of the public. I always read that first.
This is a good magazine for high school students to have access to in addition to the regular science textbooks. The type of information given often makes science more accessible for high school students. They can see why someone would choose to go into particular fields of science, and why research is needed.
I do not always agree with the information given. Too many times, it seems that Discover and its editors promote ideas or new medical concepts/technology which has not been proven. As always, lay readers should be sure to get a variety of inputs and information, as well as second opinions before accepting what is said by Discover or any other source. An example of this is the retinal implant spoken about in 2001. Readers should not go asking their physicians about such technology for themselves, but should do as much research as possible prior to making a decision on experimental procedures.
Karen SAdler,
Science Education,
University of PittsburghYes, the strongest appeal that this magazine has is its readability. The articles, however diverse they are, are not that hard to understand at all. I believe that even younger readers could read them without feeling offended and snobbed by the writing style. This is because Discover is intended for the general public. People who like a beefier telling of scientific issues should read Scientific American instead. But please note: I am not saying that Discover is kid-stuff. It is not.
Points of interest:
1.) In every issue, there is this Neuroquest, a very interesting one page "exploration of the inner workings of the human brain."
2.) The mag also offers Bogglers, a set of brain-teasers/puzzles to give those gray cells something to work on.
3.) And, Science Surfing, do I have to tell you what this is??
So far, all the Discover issues that I have have 92 pages, of which 17-18 pages were devoted to ads.For years Discover was the best magazine for the lay person or even scientists who wanted to keep track of the trends in other fields of science. Now with a new publisher it has become almost worthless. Very superficial articles are mixed with over blown headlines and poor science. After buying Discover since it's very inception I find it sad what has happened to this magazine. Check the dates and notice the glowing reviews for the old magazine but pay attention to the negative ones from the last 6 months.

Edit:I encourage people to give this magazine a second chance, four years later. I haven't checked up on it in that time, but some indicate that the quality has gone up significantly since Discover embarked on its new look. -06/28/10
Want Discover (2-year) Discount?
(2008 HOLIDAY TEAM)Discover is a fun magazine, and a much easier read than Scientific American. Mind you, it does not have the density of it's fellow publication, but I seem to pick Discover up more often lying around the house.A nice broad range of categories are covered by Discover, with an eye for "topical science." The editors are good at identifying scientific trends (like cloning), and are quick to get articles out. This is a great benefit for those who want to stay knowledgeable about science, but do not have the time to invest in deep research.
As with any science magazine, fantastic pictures fill the pages. Charts and images are well-used to illustrate and clarify unfamiliar topics. A well put-together magazine.

Master Detective
"Master Detective", in the vein of other true crime magazines focuses on real-life crimes both historical [dating back to the past] as well as contemporary stories. The stories are written with insight and clarity and make for easy reading. These stories are further enhanced with the accompaniment of archival photographs to do with the crime scene, the victim/c, the accused, trial etc.
Fans of true crime stories will appreciate these stories, though I have to caution these stories are rather morbid and not for the faint-hearted. It's rather difficult to obtain these magazines locally here in the US, unless one subscribes, and the price isn't exactly cheap. But, it does make for engrossing reading.

Progressive Populist
With subscriptions for less than $30, it is a bargain and a good tool for sharing progressive thought with others. The only thing wrong with THE PROGRESSIVE POPULIST is it publishes 22 times a year instead of weekly. A digest of people's pundits and news unfiltered by the conglomerates that control the majority of American news, THE PROGRESSIVE POPULIST belongs in the information mix of anyone who realizes they can't trust corporate media, where reporting truth is a conflict of interest. As I write this in May, 2011, the latest edition of THE PROGRESSIVE POPULIST includes an article by Alexander Cockburn challenges the hype about the so-called revolution in Libya. Another piece debunks the myth that the United States Postal Service loses money. While a weekly dose of Cockburn, Ralph Nader, Jesse Jackson, Ted Rall, Amy Goodman, Dean Baker and other columnists THE PROGRESSIVE POPULIST carries would be great, reading them 22 times a year beats not at all.
Sure, you may have PROGRESSIVE POPULIST contributors such as Dean Baker showing up in your TRUTHOUT e-mail digest, or maybe you're on Ralph Nader's e-mail list. But in every PROGRESSIVE POPULIST issue I, for one, read several informative pieces I see nowhere else.
THE PROGRESSIVE POPULIST's "Dispatches" section reports news you should have but won't necessarily get from your daily, conglomerate-owned newspaper. I read "Dispatches" first.
Subscribe to THE PROGRESSIVE POPULIST.

WHEN MY HUSBAND RECEIVES AN ISSUE HE IMMEDIATELY SETS TIME ASSIDE TO READ IT. SOMETIMES HE WILL SPEND OVER AN HOUR GOING OVER SPECIFIC INFORMATION. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF HE IS TIRED OR NOT HE WILL READ PART OF THE MAGAZINE IMMEDIATELY. AFTER READING ALL HE WANTS WHICH MAY TAKE A DAY OR TWO HE WILL SHARE IT WITH OTHER MEMBERS OF THE FAMILY AND CALL SOME FRIENDS TO INFORM THEM OF WHAT HE READ. I WISH THE MAGAZINE CAME EVERY MONTH, IT BRINGS SO MUCH JOY TO MY HUSBANDI have had a sudscription to B&G off and on my whole life. Most recent, I had a subscription over the past 2 years. BBC History
Covers a wide array of topics, from medieval to WWI and WWII.
Very well written and researched.
I'm a loyal subscriberI do not know of a better magazine for world wide history articles. Even its small paragraphs are packed with important items. I look forward to receiving it each month.GREAT! This is the best for any lover of history. Studied the subject in college and really missed at good magazine that is all history. This one also includes historical subjects outside the British realm. Well researched, well written and much enjoyed.
