Hockey News

Hockey Newsi saw that this was unrated & didn't want any fans to miss out. i've been getting the hockey news for several years now. Being in california it can be hard to get info on the goings ons in the hockey world. things have gotten easier with the nhl network, but it's still by no means mainstream. the hockey news is awsome! it comes out of canada but they say new york, covers mostly the nhl but also cover most minor, &pro hockey leagues (ahl, echl, omjhl etc.) i can't say enough about this mag but can't think of anything to say. as a hockey fan to other hockey fans, "if you love hockey & want more info on the hockey world or more info on both player in the nhl & on there way there than this is what you're looking for." there aren't many hockey mags out there so don't waste your time or money on anything but the best & in this case that's the hockey news.

I ordered this subscription for my son who is a hockey lover, and he reads it cover to cover. He is very satisfied with the magazine.

Aviation for Women

Aviation for WomenI just got my first issue today and whereas I do not normally come on here and complain about prices, but content, I must break my own rules this time. There is not enough to this magazine to be worth 6.50 an issue. Out of 48 pages, at least 5 are devoted to scholarships, something I do not need to read about and three or four are advertising the conference in February. The articles for the most part are interesting, but few. Still, considering it took me all of twenty minutes to read it, I think the price needs to modified. And more about lady mechanics, please. We are not all pilots. After all, a lot of us ladies keep em flying.. I hope to see more content in the rest of my years subscription.

I am very pleased with this magazine. I look forward to it and it has helped me out a lot during my flight training. I have met great people through the magazine's network section. Keep up the good work!! Thank you!!

Arizona Highways Magazine (1-year auto-renewal)

Arizona Highways MagazineI have only been to Arizona one time, but this magazine takes me back there and makes me long for a return trip. Every month when I receive an issue, I am able to relax in its beauty, for this magazine has some of the most astonishing photographs of any magazine I have ever read.

But it's not just the photos that make this a good buy. Stories of local natives and their history, wonders of geology, hiking excursions and even a few pages of humor make for a well-rounded and enjoyable magazine.

A good purchase for anyone wanting to learn more about, or longing to return to, Arizona.

I read much on southwestern history and quite an amount of that history happened in and around Arizona Territory and since 1912, the state of Arizona. Much of the 19th century Indian Wars, with U.S. cavalry and Apache clashing with each other, centered in Arizona too. So, from my readings in Arizona Highways, I had planned to retire in Arizona, but things turned out differently. Though I now live retired in Virginia, I continue to receive Arizona Highways every single month and would not wish to be without it.

Though the magazine has experienced several editorial changes of late, the magazine still continues to be very readable. In addition the yearly calendars published by Arizona Highways are a high point for me too. For years I had bought only a monthly calendar, but have recently started getting the day-by-day desk calendar as well. Very useful and very practical.

The letters column each month shows few if any that do not appreciate Arizona Highways, and this magazine's photographic appeal experiences a worldwide distribution. Some only read and appreciate it as I have done for years, others vacation there, while a fortunate few actually relocate there.

Whatever use you make of it, Arizona Highways, is a terrific magazine with pictorial views into a picturesque state, while at the same time offering great travel tips.

Semper Fi.

We love this magazine. We do the road trips and have seen some great areas and scenery. The magazine helps to give us great places to explore.

I have enjoyed Arizona Highways for years. Now that I live in AZ it helps me know where to go & what to see. The photography is outstanding. I always mention to my son (an 18 yr resident) about the hiking trails. Some are new to him. I do keep the magazines for reference. Being new to AZ I would like to see plants identified so I can purchase ones I like or at least know the names of those I see on the roadways/fields/mountains/etc. Same with wildlife. Thanks for a wonderful magazine on AZ.

Vogue (2-year)

VogueI was sent two old issues I had already read to start my subscription. I don't want old issues and should be extended 2 additional months. I love Vogue.

This is really the best way to go with magazine subscriptions. I love getting them and through Amazon they've become super affordable. Also, they remind me electronically when to review--much easier for me than sending mail. (Though I love getting mail).

Also, the price is super hard to beat!

And lastly, I made a mistake when ordering a magazine subscription for a friend and ordered several supscritions for one friend of the same publication. Wasn't able to rectify the problem through the Amazon site so I called the magazine subscription on the phone. Yay! A real person who as able to take care of the my messed up order. He as fast, thorough and friendly.

Pretty much order all subscriptions for myself and friends through Amazon now. Hard to beat the price too.

Good magazine, but my complaint is that when I received it, part of the cover was ripped and crinkled. They should put some kind of protective cover like other magazines when they mail it.

Neo-Opsis Science Fiction Magazine

Neo-Opsis Science Fiction MagazineThis is my new favorite SF mag. On one hand, it has the best of new voices from around the English-speaking world (Canada, UK, Australia, USA), so you get a lot of different takes on the genre. On the other hand, "Neo-Opsis" isn't produced by some corporate publishing entity. It's just two people, a husband and wife team. She does all the artwork, which is professional quality, and he writes articles and very quirky editorials. It's a small press science fiction magazine.

This is good, folks. I have only seen one issue of this magazine but am VERY pleased. I used to subscribe to Asimov's and think I will try this one out as well now. The stories range in tone lighter read or "heavier" read, fantasy or hard science fiction and there is also coverage of current science and environmental issues/ concerns. The mix is very successful and contributing writers are from, literally, around the world. It is published in Canada was told (by the bookseller at least) that it won the Canadian equivalent of a Hugo Award. They call it the Prix Aurora Award up there.

Us Weekly (1-year auto-renewal)

Us WeeklyI signed up to receive 12 issues/weeks of US Mag for $1 and was told I could cancel at anytime. This is a lie! in week 4 of the original 12 week, my credit card was charged the full renewal fee of $15.48 and the option to cancel this subscription was "not available at this time". Let this be a warning so you don't get screwed too.

Be careful when you deal with this vendor. They auto renew without notice (and claim they send notice). It is easy to turn it on but impossible to turn it off.

I subscribed because of a special deal from a previous Amazon purchase. What I didn't know was how hard it would be and the trouble I'd have to go to when I wanted to cancel the subscription. It literally took weeks, and I've yet to get my refund that I was told I would get. Definitely not worth the trouble unless you know for sure you are going to want to keep the subscription beyond the "special price" period.

great magazine, but there is no way to stop the subscription. I will disengage of Amazon...forever if this situation remains the same! Trust me!!!!

Man this magazine has fallen to the bottom of the barrel. I got six months of it on a 4.99 special offer deal with something I bought here at Amazon (the product escapes me at the moment). And I thought...Kewl!...more entertainment news like Entertainment Weekly (very good by the way)...boy did I miss the boat...I don't know when this went from a semi-hard entertainment news mag to a magazine sized Enquirer but the transformation is complete and it is undetectable from it's larger doppelganger. Maybe for women this tripe is food for thought...but it definitely isn't for men (aside from the Perez Hilton business model of men). Now I'm stuck with five more months. Needless to say...I've turned off the auto-renewal! At least my granddaughter, Kayla, likes to look at the fashions (she's fourteen) so it's not a total loss. I just feel guilty letting her read the rampant gossip and innuendos...to paraphrase Groucho:..."when gossip comes innuendo...truth goes out the door!"

Home Healthcare Nurse

Home Healthcare NurseI am a current subscriber and look forward to this journal. I appreciate the articles pertinent to the home care and hospice field, the literature reviews, the policy change updates, and all the other aspects that apply to my specialty--few of which are covered in the major nursing journals. The largest drawback I've found to this journal is the abundance of grammatical errors. I have cringed at times when loaning copies out to other nurses, knowing that the editing is sorely lacking. Otherwise, I have learned a lot with each issue and will continue to be a subscriber for many years. I highly recommend it, particularly for those who are new to the home care field.
