I WAS SO EXCITED BY THE CONTENTS I IMMEDIATELY WENT ONLINE IN SEARCH OF A NORTH AMERICAN DISTRIBUTOR AND BOUGHT 6 MORE AUSTRALIAN MAGAZINES FROM THEM FOR US TO SHARE. I AM LOOKING INTO A SUBSCRIPTION TO TWO OF THEM. THEY CONTAIN EVERYTHING REGARDING NEEDLEWORK/SEWING THAT WE ARE INTERSTED IN. WE ARE HOPING TO FIND SOMEONE LOCAL WHO WILL BECOME A DISTRIBUTOR FOR THIS FINE MAGAZINE AND THE OTHER ONE WE LIKE.

The magazine has the perfect blend of quilting needlework and great projects and really appeals to what I enjoy doing. I almost dropped my shorts when I saw the cost of this subscription!! I buy it in my local quilt store for $10 each month. I had thought to buy a subscription to be lazy. Guess I will keep buying it at the quilt shop monthly! Wow, good luck at that price!!

Bead & Button

This is a wonderful magazine with a variety of projects, from seed bead work to simple stringing. Simple directions help ease the process of creation, and a glossary is available for true beginners. I find a project that grabs me immediately in each issue, and often look through past months for inspiration.

Great magazine, but the one-year subscription (six issues) is much cheaper if purchased directly from the Publisher. Sorry, Amazon, you need to update your pricing on this one!

I have been a subscriber for many years. This is my favorite beading magazine. I do not enjoy stringing, so the easier bead stringing magazines do not appeal to me. However, Bead & Button has such a variety of projects and techniques, that it will appeal to most everyone. As an advanced seed bead technique lover, I find so much inspiration in this magazine. Typically I find 4 7 projects per issue that I MUST try out. They have a reader's gallery where you can send in photos of your work. Excellent directions that are easy to follow, even for the most complicated pieces. Great magazine. Highest recommendation. I save all my copies and return to them frequently.

I stopped my subscription to Bead and Button because over the years it seemed to gravitate more and more to beading as a means for personal adornment. Each issue was awash in how to bead necklaces, bracelets, pendants, etc. as opposed to beading for visual art sake. I am very interested in Native beading as well as "bead paintings, " beading on cloth or canvas, and artists such as Mimi Holmes, Joyce Scott, Ken Tisa, etc. While Bead and Button has had some great articles in the past, they seemed to become fewer and fewer over the recent years making a subscription, at least for one not particularly interested in jewelry, not worth the cost.

Crappie World (1-year auto-renewal)

I very seldom received an issue of the magazine. I renewed my subscription against my better jusgment and received a total of one (1) magazine during an eight month period yet received another renewal form. They did send me a check for issues I never received. It is a very good magazine, but it is much easier and less frustrating to buy directly off the newsstand. Wal-Mart carries the magazine, so I can obtain the magazine on a regular basis.

I subscribed to this magazine last year for Father's Day for my husband, and we've only received 1 magazine!

Like the previous poster said, good luck on finding a phone number!

My husband does like the magazine however.

Let Natcom get your address and you'll need a bigger mailbox. Every few weeks they send you a notice telling you that you need to renew your subscription. If you get any of their other pubs, and have been getting them for a while, you'll need a tracking system to know when you REALLY need to renew. Their magazines are just o.k. so I won't be renewing because I'm sick of their harassment. Oh, don't expect to find a phone # for customer service either. Check out the In-fisherman pubs and their "Crappie Wisdom", "Bass Wisdom", etc for a thorough and professional presentation of useful info and illustrations. Happy Hookin'!

This is a great crappie magazine. It does come sporatically. One month we received 3 magazines and haven't recieved one now for 3 months. If you don't mind the inconsistancy the magazine is great.

I subscribed to Crappie World for four years. The previous post is correct. They will send you a subscription renewal notice about every three months...even when you just renewed! They promise all kinds of free stuff for renewing. I haven't received anything yet. Deceptive trade practices at best. And yes, your mailbox will runeth over with junk mail. I'd love to subscribe again but I'm not willing to do business with that kind of folks.

There is a lot of good info in the publication. However, they often try to test the bounds of extreme fishing techniques (and practicality) as some of the articles are off the wall. Tim Huffman's parts are always good down-to-earth advise that can actually work. Wish he'd hook up with a more reputable publication.

Tls : the Times Literary Supplement

A very good book review journal with a much different take than the New York Review of Books (also excellent)and I particularly like have that difference in viewpoint not only from a cultural and geographical perspective but because the educational systems emphasize different things and I enjoy benefiting form that added value.

It seems almost sacriligeous to find fault with the TLS which for many is a kind of book-review Bible. But when compared to other bookreview venues including the NY Times Bookreview and the NY Review of Books, I find it somehow chauvinistically British and narrowly focused. I also must admit to not liking the skimpy look of the journal.

I base my remarks here not on one reading of one journal but on my general feeling after going through many many different editions of TLS over many years.

Now I should qualify this by saying that there are of course many many outstanding reviews of outstanding books, and outstanding roundup surveys on special feature reviews. However when it comes to areas in which I have a degree of specialization, I usually find the taste of the reviewer so wide of mine that I end the reading with unease and dissatisfaction.

J-14

This magazine is pretty good for younger girls, like preteen ages, who want to read about celebrities, new movies, and new music. It's also good for older girls who are bored and want to read about their favorite pop artists. It's mainly gossip, but it's got some great pictures in it. So, check it out.

That's what J-14 stands for. It's for teens pretty much yes. If you like gossip, posters, and info on your favorite celebs, music,and movies. I just started collecting them last September and I think their good. I don't care abou the gossip that much but I like the rest of it. I'm sick of seeing those kids off of High School Musical though. I wish they would take them out of the magazine. Especially Zac Efron...blech. Their good magazines though.

I got a subscription to this magazine, but they only sent me a copy every other month! I ended up getting only 6 issues when I paid for 12! I am sure of this because I saved every issue I got just to make sure. Also, in the September issue, on page 14, you can clearly see that MaryKate's lower back isn't real. It was edited. This magazine doesn't focus on anything interesting and it isn't good for older teens. I would never recommend this magazine to anyone!

I ordered this magazine for my granddaughter last summer. No issues ever arrived. I learned this many months later when I asked my granddaughter how she liked it. When I called the magazine, I was told they would sent one or two replacements. They never arrived either. I would not order from them again.

Justine Magazine

Because it "keeps it clean", Justine is appropriate for younger or more conservative readers that either don't need or don't appreciate opening up a magazine to see scantily clad girls or info on contraceptives. Justine is big on content and low on ads. Articles span many topics, from crafts and book reccomendations to beauty tips and a few celebrity interviews. Controversial things aren't covered, but nobody is forcing you to read only this one magazine. Whether or not you love or hate this magazine depends on whether you attach a positive or negative connotation to the word "wholesome".

If you miss your elementary-school "American Girl" days and spent middle school put off by the celeb-crazy, boy-crazy, or "trashy" teen fare, Justine will be right up your alley.

This magazine is great. It has alot of simplicity. It doesn't talk about all the latest celebrity gossip which makes it nice. My favorite section is the D.I.Y. because the projects are cute and simple. Find out what your favorite section is; order it now! (Although the cover price is expensive, it sure is worth a try)

My daughter wanted to subscribe to a magazine geared toward teenage girls so I went to a bookstore to check them out. The vast majority are absolute trash which promote promiscuity. It is appalling! Then I picked up Justine and amazingly it did not have page after page devoted to sexual topics. It has great articles on make-up, fashion, cool room decor, fun recipes, craft ideas, celebrity features, careers, plus articles about teens that are actually giving back to society (Imagine!). And the ads are suitable as well, unlike the ads in other so-called teen magazines. I HIGHLY recommend this magazine! It is fun, inspiring, clean and maintains the values we adhere to in our family.

This is the best Italian cooking magazine I have ever seen -no wonder, as it is actually published in Italy, in Italian. American magazines of Italian cooking seem to be about what we suppose Italian food is about. This magazine is what trendy Italian women would actually pick up and buy, and cook from. There are cooking lessons as well as recipes and reviews. It is worth the effort to translate the issues (if you are not fluent in Italian, as I am not) and the photos are beautiful.

This magazine is the real deal, in Italian, for Italians. I love La Cucina Italiana but this is even better. Knowing a bit of Italian would help in using this, but there is always Google Translator (as long as you are willing to type a lot of Italian). The first thing I learned was what a deciliter is. It is also packed with recipes and pictures....awesome.
